If you are a history buff, Charleston is for you!

If you are a history buff, Charleston is for you! So many fabulous old houses built during the Merchant era and of course, Boone Hall Plantation was amazing. The food is good and we loved the Irish Bar "Something" Tiger. A city of churches, graveyards, ghosts. Loved it! Getting around Charleston is easy if you are a walker. There are 3 free buses that take you to 3 different areas. Enjoyed the Day and Night Market and loved seeing a free puppet show and a fabulous sax player.

Downtown Charleston is the best part of Charleston.

Downtown Charleston is the best part of Charleston. I love the history and architecture. I spend hours walking around the residential streets and alleys admiring the beauty. What I don't like is how expensive the area is. And crowded. If hotel costs were lower in the historic district I could easily spend a week taking in the sights and enjoying the many great restaurants.

My 1st time going & my car was stolen out of the hotel parking lot. Embassy suites did not offer any assistance and was a complete nightmare getting around with kids & family. Cops acted like it was an inconvenience that my car was stolen. They look our info over the phone vs coming to the hotel.

We’ve made many trips to Charleston, living only 2 hours away. We enjoy downtown when we want to shop & stay near the hustle & bustle. We have an Inn where we stay that’s out of downtown which is convenient to MUSC & the Mark Clark Hwy (526) towards Savannah or east towards Isle off Palms.
