I guess I'm a west coast gal. Charleston has a lot of history which I appreciate. However, Charleston looked super tired, dirty and very expensive . Just about everything looked run down. I don't understand the attraction.
An interesting place, full of history with a wide choice of activities & amenities. A wide choice of restaurants & bars & would highly recommend the popular Poogan's Porch & TBonz.
Beautiful city, would have love to stay longer. we will come back just to see the sights, was there to go on cruise leaving from Charleston. Got hit at home by tornado while gone. Had property damage, fire. Left as soon as we docked.
I was in Charleston on brief business. My first time there and discovered that it’s a beautiful city. I loved viewing the historic areas by carriage. The locations we chose for dinner Henry’s was excellent and the Jazz music an added plus. Don’t miss shopping at the Market and walking around. I wish I was there longer.
Charleston was gorgeous. I didn't expect the architecture and scenery to be so beautiful and walking around downtown was a highlight of the trip. One down side is that the sidewalks are very old, sometimes quite narrow, and many cobblestone/craggy. This can be tough for strollers and wheelchairs. There's not much disability friendly access here. Parking is easy in the garages.
Tons of southern history. Lots of traffic and finding parking was insane...even an empty slot in a parking structure. Friendly people and food available everywhere at slightly higher prices as we expected. Ft. Sumter tour was excellent.
Charleston
This was a little oasis off of Folly Road 5 min to the beach and only 20 minutes to Downtown. My wife and I felt very comfortable the whole stay and Paul kept the property and rooms very clean. We also found the best NY Bagel restaurant only a few miles away. My wife is from NY and was impressed with their bagels and she is a very big critic of that and Pizza.... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if our travels brings us back we will be repeat customers.
This was our first trip to Charleston and the Courtyard Charleston was a great choice for lodging. The rooms were well appointed and spacious. We met Livia T. In the hallway on our first day and she was a delight to talk to. She gave us suggestions on what to see and where to eat. She checked us out on our last day and enrolled us in your rewards program. My sister will be visiting Charleston next month and I will encourage her to stay at your hotel.
The view is amazing and totally makes the stay worth it (I paid a couple dollars extra for a city view). It's also in a great location - it's not downtown which makes parking/driving easier and cheaper but it's only about 5 minutes from downtown Charleston and the Avondale neighborhood in West Ashley. The road to the hotel connects to the road to Folly Beach too if you're coming for the beach.
The hotel was in an excellent location to downtown Charleston; it was within 10 minutes of popular restaurants and attractions of the city. The room was large and spacious it was great for our infant- it had a full size fridge, stove top, microwave. Our room appeared clean and staff approachable and inviting. The hotel offered breakfast each morning that was an added bonus.
My wife and I went to this hotel during the COVID-19, unfortunately, they didn't offer breakfast and service room, as already expected. The room is good, not sophisticated, but you pay for what you have. The area is good, near downtown. The staff is really good and patient. Note: All the staff was following the COVID19 recommendations.
A small group of us traveled to Charleston for a birthday trip. This hotel is located right on one of the main roads through downtown. It made it easy to navigate while going to other locations. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean and the shower was spacious with great water pressure and duration of temperature.
Mount Pleasant, Charleston
With Covid ending, we found that the downtown hotels were not only packed, but highly priced. So, we decided to try something different and so glad we did. To have the water views and the spacious campus to use, created a nice change for our trip. We did spend time in Charleston which was about a 15 min drive from the campus.
The location was convenient to downtown Charleston and other attractions. The hotel seems fairly new and the room was modern and comfortable. The room was well designed and thought out with multiple charging ports and good use of space.
We loved our stay at the Hyatt House Charleston Historic District. It was in a pretty good location of lots of shopping and eating establishments. The hotel was very clean, staff were very courteous and the breakfasts was delicious.
The room was very clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. The free breakfast is outstanding. The location is very convenient to downtown Charleston, to many excellent restaurants, to the beach. I highly recommend this hotel.
We really like this Hotel I never stay in the Hotel with walk in closet also the bathroom its big the bed so comfortable. Its little far from Downtown but the money you save its all worth it.
North Charleston, Charleston
fairly price rate (less expensive) Vs. other hotels downtown. it was clean in the room comparing to a similar price in Switzerland, the service and quality is way below!!
The hotel is close enough to the historic district without paying the crazy prices to stay downtown. Free breakfast with ample options for most diets.
Staff was friendly and most helpful. Room was clean and relatively new. Location of hotel allowed quick access to downtown Charleston.
Nice house, clean and comfortable. Good location, near shopping market and half hour to downtown Charleston. We enjoyed our stayed.

Incredibly friendly staff, AMAZING art (loved the art tour with Andy), perfect location that was walking distance from everything, free use of umbrellas came in handy, live music in the lounge Saturday night was fantastic, great view from the rooftop bar
