Typical motel on the road near all Cherokee attractions and shops. The balcony overlooking the Oconaluftee River is very relaxing and we were able to sleep with the balcony door open without AC, which we really enjoyed. We went to the open air theater and the Cherokee village, the Qualla shop has authentic handicrafts, the others sell Chinese stuff.

The people were so friendly…everyone!

The people were so friendly…everyone! It was beautiful weather (October) to be out and about! We enjoyed the museum very much. We were sad because we didn’t know the village was closed on Monday-so we missed it!

The Cherokee village was a great experience even in the rain 😀 with a terrific guide. There are many good places to eat and interesting gift shops in a small quiet town. You can walk to many places .

Cherokee is a great place to stay.

Cherokee is a great place to stay. You are right at the Smokey Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Not far from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Cades Cove is a place if history. The scenery is beautiful. You will see elk, bear and wild turkeys. Great place to eat is at Peters pancake and waffle restaurant. There is a museum of the Cherokees. Smokey Mountain train ride in Bryson City just down the road about A twenty minutes. So much to do.

The only thing my husband and I were not very happy with was...

The only thing my husband and I were not very happy with was the unfriendliness of some business owners. Not all tourists are bad people. We did not know of everything that Cherokee offers. The town is very quaint. Loved the casino, but, did not leave winners.

Very touristy. Loud, crowded, run down. Restaurants are exclusively low level (casino may be different but I would not know). Would not recommend staying there. If you go to the area I’d recommend staying closer to Bryson city

Beautiful setting. Mountains and green everywhere.

Beautiful setting. Mountains and green everywhere. Wonderful air quality. Friendly helpful people. Good local resturants. Good prices. Lots of outdoor activities.Grandma' Resturant was a great Buffet. The Grand Hotel have great workers and tge Harrahs hotel was beautiful. The conccert venue there was outstanding. We drove 9 hours to see Wonho in concert and would return for another show of this quality.

The location was great. The hotel was just 2 minutes from the downtown shops. The staff was friendly with an easy check in. The room was clean and smelled good. Stayed on second floor and there were rocking chairs outside each room. It was peaceful sitting and starring at the beautiful mountain in front of me.
