We have relatives in Chetek. The hotel is conveniently located near them. It is right off of the main highway, but not so close that you hear the traffic. The main drag is just up the road. Personally, I would recommend that anyone looking at online reviews of this facility overlook the negative comments. I couldn’t find anything about which to complain.

The room was shabby, smelled of stale smoke mixed with a cover up chemical industrial "freshener". Fabrics visibly outdated on chairs. The make your own omelette machine (a round hot plate) were a nice option for an egg eater. The staff inactivated booth of our keys at 9am while we were picking out our food. So food was cold when we gor back to the room with working keys. She explained it was a glitch from day light savings which was >3 months ago? She acted like non working both room keys was a common occurrence that should be fixed by now. We also had negotiated a lated check out the night prior.

During our holiday we stayed at some good hotels and some shocking ones and to choose on Booking.com they all look the same and many a similar price!!! However I can honestly say this was the best one. It was extremely clean, very, very comfortable and the nicest 'smelling' (the previous night we spent the night in a dump, so maybe I was just glad to get something nice LOL) Everything just felt right as you stepped through the door and our room looked out over a golf club and the 'vista' was excellent. The breakfast was OK (see below) but we dined out the previous evening at a restuarant that I think was attached to the golf club? the food was really good ( and good value for money) and the draught beer was excellent (local - spotted cow I think)

Room was clean, pet friendly and private. When we checked in our desk gal was wonderful!! She stated she was pretty new, been there a couple weeks. We had an issue with out tv remote and she came to our room twice to help. We got it figured out. Good price and location! Wonderful pool and hot tub that we enjoyed. We will be back!
