Coos Bay is a bargain destination to economically enjoy a Pacific Northwest coastal town and coast. Take the ten mile drive to Shore Acres Park and stop at multiple view points to see the rugged coastline and wildlife up close. No vendors or tickets to buy,just beautiful nature and scenery. Miles of sandy beach at Sunset Cove and Bastendorf Beach, light house, tall forest, sea lion by the hundreds. The town has scores of restaurants, Mexican, Oriental, Sea food. Mostly family oriented, and fine dining is not offered,but good dining is extensive and reasonable. There are a variety of hotels, nothing high style. There is no industry except logging, and one can only see this by the log yard at the bay warf. Coos Bay is a nice residential town of about 50,000.
