United StatesAs soon as we opened our room door everything looked super cleaned. It had a fresh smell. Breakfast was great. Even though the ladies were short staff they restocked pretty fast. They were very professional and with a smile. P.M African American Lady made my day. She spoke to my daughter and myself and made us feel super welcome. It made me feel like we have known each other for a long time. Thank you for having great staff working at your location. We will definitely go back.

Downtown Davis has several art galleries, many restaurants, and two movie theaters. There is a youthful vibe from the UC Davis students. The UC Davis campus is great for walking and the UC Davis Arboretum is popular. There are also galleries and exhibits open to the public on campus and anyone can eat at the UC Davis Memorial Union. You can purchase tickets for an event at the Mondavi Center. Jump on any UniTrans bus at the Memorial Union to see more of Davis. The West Davis Pond, North Davis Greenbelt, and South Davis trail along Putah Creek are all great places to walk. The Davis Art Center, Public Library, and Food Co-op are all good places to visit.

Only explored the Davis area next to UC campus.
Only explored the Davis area next to UC campus. The area is walkable with sidewalks and fairly well lit at night. Pretty much has everything you need, restaurants, bars, etc. almost every ethnicity represented. We ate at a Vietnamese Pho place called Sit Lo Saigon. Very good choice all around. However I thought there were too many chain establishments and not enough local places with any kind of character. It’s a love it or hate it atmosphere. Kind of a generic look and feel that’s not for everyone.

We enjoyed walking all over
Bummer was Hotel was falling apart No Elevator for our 6 days stay we were on the second floor of the hotel so we had to climb lots of steps to get to and from our room the ice machine was broken on our floor and when we first arrive for four hours no water
But all the staff and the managers were all very nice there and pleasant, very good breakfast and that was it

Great place to stay in Davis.
Great place to stay in Davis. Close enough to UC Davis that we didn't have to get up early for Aggie Day. There were good restaurants nearby (highly recommend the Japanese one) and a fab grocery store.

Be prepared for a friendly hotel that has slipped away from its previous high standards, with rooms badly in need of a facelift. It has all the facilities, though some are slightly shabby. It definitely needs tighter management and staff with better training.

The hotel met my expectation.
The hotel met my expectation. However, I was charged about $15 over the price that was shown during booking and confirmation. I asked why but was told it was for incidental and would be refunded upon checked out. It was not refunded when I checked out. In fact, I was not given a receipt even I had asked for one. Booking.com has not done anything to help me to resolve this situation. It is not so much about the $15 but it is the principle of the hotel not meeting its advertised price.

This freshly-remodeled former Motel 6 is a fun and conveniently-located place to stay in Davis. Guests here are in the very walkable heart of downtown, and just blocks from the campus of UC Davis. Also - great shower with plenty of water pressure, and good air conditioning for hot afternoons/evenings. Friendly staff too. They have a free breakfast, but I didn't have time to try it. There's a lovely breakfast/lunch cafe across the street too.

The property is very nice. The room was spacious, clean and very well appointed. We stayed in a king bedroom that had a separate living room with a pullout sofa. There is coffee and tea in the lobby, plus an assortment of snacks to purchase. There was also lots of parking available and it’s an easy and close walk to downtown Davis, and about 1 mile to the UC campus along a lovely creekside path.
