We only stayed overnight at the inn and didn't spend much time in the town. It would be convenient if the gas station would stay open longer, as this was the only place we could find something to eat. (other than at a bar)
We ate breakfast at Katrina's restaurant and it was excellent. Very friendly staff and great food. Makes the wait well worth it. The Grotto was very interesting, even in the drizzling rain! Also visited Potosi and the restaurant. Again the food was excellent and we even took home some of the locally brewed beer and wine from the wine shop. Actual destination was the two day craft fair in Galena, Illinois and as usual it was a good event minus the weather. The downtown shops once again received its fair share of our money.
Katina'so Kitchen serves great food but it's not a place to go if you're in a hurry. The people in the restaurant gave great ideas on places to go in the area, available free activities, and helped us find a protestant church (Hope E-Free in Dubuque)
We stayed at the Wisconsin Wood Inn and were satisfied with our rooms for the cost. Katina's Restaurant just down the street was awesome for both breakfast and lunch and came with very friendly service. We came to Dickeyville on 6 touring motorcycles and totally enjoyed riding the local back roads and plan on returning for more riding. Being just minutes from Dubuque IA made night activities quite convenient. We had a nice time.
