Honestly Estes Park, CO wasn't our 'destination', it was a place for us to stay for access to Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes Park is quaint, charming, a bit too touristy for me, and the streets are so crowded. We did however visit The Stanley Hotel for the first time, it was lovely and very interesting. I always appreciate the grandeur of hotels from this era and am so grateful when cities choose to preservice the historical significance rather than bull doze them down!

Great tourist town!
Great tourist town! I do NOT recommend the Wagon Wheel Bar though, the bartender was extremely rude. We went down the block to Lonigans and they were friendly and the beer was cold!
Kids loved the mountain coaster!

We spent a day there in July, and the weather was fantastic! Also, it is packed on a summer Friday, so don't be surprised by the struggle for parking; it's available, but you have to be patient, and expect a lot of walking. There is a LOT to sample, and see, and do. A lot. Nearly overwhelming with the variety of options to eat, or purchase, or wear. The scenery, the setting of Estes Park, is beautiful.

Using the guides at the visitor center is key to figuring out passes for shuttles and parking at RMNP. They also made restaurant suggestions. I strongly recommend the Estes Park Trolly tours; you learn a lot about what places you'd like to come back to on your own in the days to follow. Our favorite restaurant was hands down the Smokin' Dave's restaurant; it's a MUST! We traveled to Boulder for a massage at Massage Mountain by Authentic Bodyworks that worked out the soreness of 4 days of hiking/walking- 6/5 stars!!
The WorldMark Estes Park feels like a home away from home where you literally can do your own cooking, etc. No disturbances and staff is easy to reach and very helpful. The grounds are in beautiful surroundings which only heightens your feeling of relaxation.
