Estes Park always delivers. We go there for the breathtaking views and to see all the wildlife. We saw lots of elk in rut, tons of deer, mountain sheep but missed a moose or bear. Both were spotted while we were there. Make sure to get your limited access passes early so that you can go into the whole park. Otherwise you are restricted on where you can go to look or wildlife and hike.
We really enjoy being in Estes Park. Loved the little town with lots of gift shops and restaurants. The air is clean and the sky was always so dramatic and beautiful. Bring umbrella it rains in the middle of summer too, but we liked it.
Estes Park can get crowded but there is always plenty to do and see both in the town and in Rocky Mountain National Park. This motel is very recently updated, so small but comfortable. There is a walking path that goes to the Town - about a mile away - and you can continue walking or catch bus/shuttle services during the summer season -July and August.
Estés park is a beautiful little town. We had a few sprinkles but not enough for an umbrella. Everything there is clean and new. Lots of restaurants to choose from on the Main Street. The elk are everpresent and not afraid of people. Located amid the mountains, it’s cooler than the flatlands of Denver. The city is well kept; flowers and plants everywhere and ornamental trees. Traffic slow and pedestrian friendly
Estes Park is a very small community, located outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is small, and easy to go to different places as long as you are driving. The visitor center was great, offering a series of shuttle buses to explore the area. Perhaps Estes Park needs another grocery store, as Safeway seems to be the main place, and can be very crowded.
We booked a cabin for 3 nights, so that gave us 4 days of activities. The first day we acclimated to the altitude and just chilled at the cabin. No ac was available in the Resort we stayed, but later learned it wasn't anywhere in the area. Was expecting more wildlife, but read that the elk come down during the rut to the city during September-October. We did the Green Jeep 4x4 private tour to the top of the Rocky Mountain National Park. We saw lots of elk, deer, pika, and beautiful scenery. Went all the way to theTundra. Amazing. Rode horses up into the Rocky Mountain National Park. We went with the stable that allowed a heavier weight limit. Never rode before and was a wonderful experience. Drove around down town a bit, we are not the night life type, so we went downtown Estes Park about 9am and most stores were open. Enjoyed the scenery and the cool weather. Would definitely recommend.
Estes Park
The hotel was very clean and the staff was great; no complaints there. The lobby was nice and we actually hung out in the lobby one night as they had board games available to guest and an outdoor seating area. Overall I do recommend this place as a stay in Estes park and location was great; but did feel that cost per night was excessive. Evidently hotel books out months in advance over the summer so that is probably why.
Estes Park
Fantastic stay at Blue Doors Inn, especially to Jeremy for giving us amazing recommendations for food, gear rentals, hikes to try at RMNP, and even more recommendations for other parts of our trip to Colorado Springs and Denver. Room was clean and comfortable, and the service was absolutely top notch. Definitely will recommend others to stay here. Thanks again!!
Estes Park
I like that it was clean, the rooms were large, the beds are comfy, the bathrooms were clean and complete, the TV was big and had lots of channels and the free breakfast had a lot of options. I like the location of the hotel too as it is isnt right in the downtown area so it isnt too hectic or crowded.
Estes Park
Amazing Hotel! The cabin was awesome, super clean, kitchen had everything we need, beds and towels were confortable, no mosquitoes… Absolutely perfect. Perfectly located outside the Rocky Mountain National Park Beaver Meadows entrance.
Estes Park
This location can't be beat! Very welcoming atmosphere with breathtaking views. Discovery Lodge is a cute, quaint hotel that takes pride in providing clean, pet friendly lodging at a great price. Will definitely stay again.
It was a nice property. It had a nice view from our room. Great staff and a good breakfast. Most hotels are using the pandemic as an excuse to throw a bowl of muffins on the table. What’s not to like in Estes Park.
Estes Park
The location was perfect for experiencing Estes Park and also traveling into Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff was friendly, helpful and engaging. One of the coolest historical hotels in the area.
Excellent communication with staff; very easy to walk along the river to get downtown. We only had a couple of nights in Estes Park and the property suited us very well.
Staff went above and beyond. Loved the location and how the river ran past the hotel. The s’mores and fires were a nice touch!
Estes Park
Nice room but you need to climb to reach the bed. Nice breakfast Very reasonably priced for Estes Park
No breakfast. It was advertised to have it but once we arrived the hotel said it was a mistake.
