The price was extremely reasonable. The only thing was the mattresses and pillows could've been more comfortable. The linens were really nice though! Estes Park is nestled in the mountains and is very scenic. It has a great small town feel and something for every level of fitness to enjoy. This is not a town for foodies though as we found almost every restaurant to be bland and expensive. The best restaurants we would recommend are Mountain Home Cafe for breakfast/brunch, Claire’s for lunch or dinner and You Need Pie for sandwiches (the Ruben was great). Also a lot of scenic drives to nearby towns…. Head to Brainard Lake in Ward, Colorado for the most beautiful alpine lake and evergreen forest (timed entry pass is needed). Or head through Big Thompson Canyon to nearby Loveland to ride along the Fall River in between two canyon walls. You can’t go wrong! The photos I added is Brainard Lake they are not in RMNP and may just ruin your threshold of what you consider beautiful for alpine lakes..
The local residents are not prepared for the visitors to the town in the summer. A Park Ranger of RMNP answered my question stating the locals feel that the RMNP is theirs. This is a National Park for the whole Country not just for Coloradans. The food in Estes Park is delicious. From Pizza to Cinnamon rolls -
Good choice of what to do. The Backbone Adventures jeep rental is a great deal. Lots to do for families. The scenery, especially in Rocky Mountain National Park is amazing! Lots of very scenic roads in and out of the park. Negatives are the grocery store is under staffed to the point of over hour long check out times. Food at every restaurant is way over priced. Can be crowded. Just typical tourist area stuff.
We are Colorado natives and come to Estes Park as often as we can. It's a fun place to visit whether for a weekend or longer. There is a lot to do for everyone of all ages. Beautiful scenery and very clean. Our favorite place to eat was I Need Pie! It was amazing!! Great atmosphere and location. We did the night tour at the Stanley Hotel and it was great! Regan is the best tour guide ever!!!!! Shopped at Annie's. Great prices and the owner is so kind and helpful - spent way too much but super happy with our purchases! Had a great time at Snowy Peaks Winery.
Beautiful town with many great stay options, all with elk wandering through. I read one comment that is true. For the elk, this is their home and we are merely visitors in their living rooms. So they walk around eating grass and generally ignore us tourists and our gawking and cameras. Early a.m. or before dusk they are everywhere around the wooded areas which includes the hotel lodges. They are also on the sides of the road driving into RMNP (Rocky Mtn Natl Park) which is super close. There I saw some moose on Sprague Lake which is flat and paved around so very family friendly. Other lakes require a hike or are buried in snow as late as May. Note: Before Memorial day the rim of the park road is closed, so you can't drive through to the west side of the park and the huge lake there (Grand lake). There are reportedly some moose there as well. P.S. On the lookout at the ESTES PARK stone welcome sign above the town (south road) there are some very friendly chipmunks. Bring nuts if you want to feed them. Note the official policy: In the Estes Valley laws and regulations discourage the feeding of wildlife. It is inadvisable to feed raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, foxes, coyotes, skunks and other small animals. It is illegal to feed elk, deer, bighorn sheep, antelope, mountain lions and bears. If you feed a bear somewhere it may take your arm along with the food! LOL. But we didnt see any. Spend 3-5 days here, plenty to do in the park and the lodges are very relaxing. There is the Emerald Lake hike (about 45 mins to each of two lovely lakes) though snowed in til at least June. There is a trail with many small waterfalls, and there are a few other scenic hikes. There is also a scenic drive to the photogenic CHAPEL ON THE ROCK: THE SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA CHAPEL IN ALLENSPARK on the park's southern border road. Lovely, like something out of Scotland or Highlander, lake on a rock over a tarn.
We only had 2 days and there's so much to see! Definitely the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. The Donut has had fantastic pastries, Smoking Dave's barbecue was excellent and the kids had a great time at fun city.
Estes Park
The room was cozy and nicely decorated. The bed was comfy, but has your typical small hotel pillows. The shower had good pressure and was hot, which was appreciated after a long day hiking! We also appreciated the assigned parking spot, right outside our door and the router that was specific to our room. The location was great for getting to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance or for going to Downtown Estes Park! We would definitely stay here again!
The hotel staff and accommodations were amazing. We had issues checking in which had nothing to do with the location but the maintenance man Cam was extremely friendly and helpful in getting us situated even after hours. Estes Park
Great hotel!! Our room was so clean and charming. The check in area is ideal, they have a wall of dvd's you can borrow as well as a popcorn machine and each room has a DVD player. The pool was very clean and well maintained. My son and I come to Estes Park multiple times a year, it has become our special place. This has now become our special hotel.
Estes Park
loved the homey feeling when I walked in the room, it was so comfy and relaxing, loved the decor and all the space it was so roomy. It was awsome to be outside watching all the Elk that were hanging out on the golf course that is right next door. Would recommend this hotel to everyone, I love Estes Park
Estes Park
The only Pros is it is near to Rocky Mountain national park. We did not like the Hotel room and services as per Room charge . Bed was very uncomfortable. Also they need to improve their customer service attitude. There are many better options available in Estes park so choose wisely.
Estes Park
The hotel was so convenient to all of Estes Park and the we loved our room. We had plenty of space and the amenities in the room were far superior to other hotels we have stayed at on this trip. The staff even came in at 5 am to brush all the snow off our car.
The location is great. Only a couple of miles to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park. We also enjoyed having a hotel with 2 bedrooms. There’s a pool and picnic area that would be great for family time.
Estes Park
Great location, only 5 minutes from an entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and less than 10 minutes from Estes Park commercial area. The cabins are beautiful and the resort is very cozy and inviting.

Great place to visit. The hotel is a large complex of buildings with cabins, apartments, condominiums and a lot of things to do. Very close of Rocky Mountain. Great Breakfast.
Estes Park
The Kokopelli Inn was perfect for our weekend in Estes Park. The hotel is only 12 mins from downtown and the hot tub was perfect after a long day in Rocky Mtn National Park.
Staff went above and beyond. Loved the location and how the river ran past the hotel. The s’mores and fires were a nice touch!
What breakfast? We went to Starbucks every morning. “Hotel - more like a motel - was in close proximity to the National Park.
Great hotel in a beautiful setting perfectly located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Clean hotel and friendly staff.
Estes Park
The views are absolutely the BEST of any motel in the area.....including the Stanley Hotel
Amazing place, cabins on the river. Nee furniture, gentle staff. I really liked it

Estes Park
When we arrived, something had gone wrong through Booking.com and they did not have our reservation. The gentleman that checked us in,(i did not get his name) was extraordinary, very helpful, kind and professional. And although he was EXTREMELY busy, was able to find us a room with an upgrade and get us taken care of. So extremely grateful.
Estes Park
Beautiful location, staff extremely helpful and friendly, with a lovely restaurant/bar on site. Super clean and spacious room, we had a lakeside veiw with a balcony, which was amazing!! Right on the doorstep to Rocky National park. Would highly recommend 😊
