the room was of good size, clean & comfortable, the hotel’s location was beautiful & was close to where i wanted to go but the view from my room was disappointing though, it’s all air conditioning & exhaust system. rm 218.
Front Royal was a nice surprise. Just stayed overnight on the way home from long road trip. Went looking for dinner and after seeing lots of depressing fast food, stumbled across the adorable Main St! Train station, grain store and general store all converted to business. Cute shops and a quiet welcoming Americana Main St. Painted art on the buildings. Even complete with teens skateboarding down the middle of the street.
Love downtown Front Royal and close proximity to Appalachian Trail and skyline drive. Unfortunately transportation to and fron trialheads such as shuttle, cab or uber is non existent and we had to wait 45 minutes for a cab to take us 3 miles. For a town that has lots of hikers this should be improved.
The location was the only thing I liked. Either management did not relay the message we wanted extra towels or they didn't care, because we were not given any, I had to go ask again. The tub creaked with every movement ( our neighbors did also). Breakfast was a choice of hunnybun, apple , juice or coffee. Not much of a choice for someone who does not eat sweet rolls or apples. The Air Conditioner made a noise that sounded like heavy rain, but it was not a soothing sound, it was a disturbing sound.
the employees were very kind and willing to help. specially the lady giving away the breakfast. Despite COVID-19 precautions, she delivered a very succulent brakfast every time. Pool was nice, but could;'ve been warmer. Holtes was very clean, and tidy.
We have been visiting the Front Royal area for over 15 years now. There is a lot to do. There are numerous wineries, distilleries and breweries in the area. We try to get in at least 2 or 3 hikes over our long weekend stays. The restaurant scene on or near main street in Front Royal will surprise a lot of people, it is very good. We ate at the Blue Wing Frog which I would highly recommend. You should also make sure to visit the Down Home Bakery, you won't regret it.
Front Royal
Location was great. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. My son and I were in town for an R-MA tour, and needed to iron clothes after our trip in. While no iron or board in the room, I inquired at the office and they happily obliged. Don't judge this hotel by the outside. Owners clearly care as they were busy working it during our stay. I'm sure the past year has been tough on small biz owners like these folks so I give them a lot of credit for sticking with it, and working to improve their property.
This is very nice hotel. It looks pretty new and updated. Key to our original room didn’t work, so we got upgraded to the suite that had living room and bedroom. The room was beautiful, the bed was really comfortable. Coffee machine, refrigerator and microwave were available in the room. There was very nice restaurant on premises so we didn’t have to go anywhere for dinner. Overall, it’s a great hotel, I would stay there again.
Found the hotel to be comfortable, clean, and friendly which we always look for. The bed was comfortable but the pillows? Not so much. The TV was a little small but we were only there for 24 hours so that didn’t matter. All in all, we’d return if need be.
Stopped by for one night. The properties location was great, just a few minutes from the north entrance to the Skyline Drive. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff helpful. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.
Front Royal

We were there for a wedding and our family lives in Front Royal. The hotel is very lovely. In a great location. Have stayed at that location and would return again.
Cheap and convenient. Basic room but clean. No alarm clock but has a ceiling fan. I brought my own pillow and blanket and toiletries.
The hotel clerk was a very sweet man who provided us with maps and suggestions for places to eat. The room was clean.
There was no breakfast. Once again Covid was blamed however, all other hotels that we stayed in provided breakfast.
