This is located very close to some Hot Springs & can easily get to water rafting, fishing or hiking around here. The busier in town area is down the road a bit which I did go to see how things were since the floods. Has restaurants & grocery story in town which is great if you need something for room w/micro & fridge & coffee, but they served a great B'fast here. Is nice to see Paradise Valley, before arriving from Bozeman airport & Immigrant town has a must stop off bakery & BBQ. All not a bad drive from Bozeman, but did choose to stay in Livingston 1 night, but was not necessary. I could of continued on highway to this nice place on the mountain hill/side. Not right on top of river, but can see AOK. I stayed in the largest room w/king bed & a queen in case my family joined me. Highly recommend it w/walking room & big eating table. Fun decor!
Gardiner is a great base for visiting the northern and central areas Yellowstone. People interested in wildlife prefer the north which have the best wildlife areas. Our trip was the week before the 2022 floods and I hope the get Gardiner reconnect with Yellowstone quickly as I hope to return in 2023 and want to base my trip from Gardnier.
We liked the Super 8. Out of downtown a few blocks, on Scott St. Across from a Market, that had many different foods to eat, etc. The Corral, a small rest., had the BEST Elk Burger I ate. Smaller inside eating, and huge outdoor seating. It was across St, down q building. We had our car, so driving to downtown was easy. the front stores had parking. the 2nd St. back had parking along street filled up. Had eats and shops, but we didn't go in them. See pronghorn or elk right inside the park, by the Arch, off to the right. There is a huge BBQ place right off the river; locals said don't go there to eat, so we did not go there. If u want to explore N and NE Yl.stone, stay in this town. Convenient, and less than the high prices to stay in Yellowstone.
The location was prime and had an added bonus of many wildlife right outside the front door. The Cabin was great the only problem we had was trying to get the TV to work because it was a Dish setup and we are not familiar on how they work.
Gardiner is at the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park--it is a smallish town, easy to get around by car or on foot; people were friendly, the town was clean and pretty, a good sized herd of elk settled in on the edge of town--with some of the elk wandering & eating their way through the town; What I would avoid--remembering that breakfast at the motel was juice, coffee and a small muffing--to plan to eat breakfast at a cafe, and to request a ground level room when first making reservations.
Gardiner is a cool little town. Plenty of beautiful views and it’s right on the Yellowstone river. There’s river access for kayak and rafting. Rentals available. Lots of places to eat and the town is right at the north entrance to Yellowstone. I’d definitely stay there again.
Sleeping in Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel was one of our greatest experiences in Yellowstone. Staff is friendly, location is absolutely beautiful (there are live animals walking between the tipis, which was also really nice to see). We stayed here during the end of September, so nigh was quite cold, but in the tipi there was two air heaters, which helped us to get more warm. Shared bathrooms were also nice (clean and warm). And night fire with complimentary beer was also very pleasant, as well as the watching bright sky during the night.
Gardiner
Clean, spacious and very well decorated throughout. There were even wildlife pictures throughout cabin and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware and a full size coffee pot with gourmet coffee. There were even little creamers in the refrigerator. There was a tv in the living area as well as one in the separate bedroom that you could stream Netflix and other channels. Elk were grazing and resting all around the cabins. Best of all, we were just outside of the north entrance to YNP.
Gardiner
Beauty of the setting; mountains, Yellowstone River. Size of the cabin could easily hold two families in comfort. Gardiner is a neat, quaint cowboy town with shops, bars, recreational opportunities and restaurants. The wild life are right outside your door. Access to the entrance to Yellowstone is minutes away from your cabin.
Perfect location for Yellowstone park. Gardiner is a cool little town with great views. Hotel design and decor are great for the area it is in. Every single staff member was helpful and friendly. If I ever make it back to Gardiner the Antler is where I stay and recommend to others going to Gardiner.

Staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Loved the suite that we booked which allowed us to cook (there's a supermarket nearby as well!) and we could adjust the temperature in the room to keep us nice and warm. We had a great stay and would come back here to stay again!
We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this place was! At first, we were thinking that since the hotel was in Gardiner, MT that it could just charge an arm and a leg without offering much, but it was actually a very clean, nice, and comfortable place.
Best place to stay near north Yellowstone. The cabin we got not only had the most amazing view, my son loved the loft area. The staff is awesome. The room is clean and beds were comfy. Felt like a little home away from home! Loved everything!
We stayed during the big flood in Yellowstone. All roads out of Gardiner were impassable. The staff and especially the manager, were untiring in their support at a very difficult time.
Gardiner
