Dreamcatcher Teepee Hotel offers accommodations in Gardiner. Towels and bed linen are featured. Guests can enjoy a drink at the on-site bar. The property also offers mini-market. The bathrooms/shower facilities were large, clean, heated, and nicer than most hotel bathrooms. There was plenty of them, and we never had to wait for one to open. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are also available in the shower. Towels are rolled up in baskets in the tipis. Once done with the towel, you just throw them in a basket in the shower facility and it will be replaced when they tidy up your tipi while you are out on your adventure. The beds were incredible!! Heaters are provided, but we chose to sleep without them. We enjoyed the cool nights while sleeping under all of the cozy bedding. I haven’t slept that well in years! Each tipi has chairs outside the tipi. We spent the evenings gazing up at the brilliant big sky. It was breathtaking. We loved that Dreamcatcher Tipi Hotel provides a campfire with complimentary wine, beer, and s’mores every night from 8:00 to 10:00. We enjoyed meeting people from all over the States. It was fun to exchange stories from our adventures of the day. This was truly one of the coolest things we have ever done in our lives. It’s a MUST DO!!

Gardiner is just what you would think of an old western type town in Montana. Driving along and stopping to let a herd of big horn sheep or bison walk across was always a bonus. The landscape and mountains were beautiful. I did not see any trash throughout the town. People were friendly. It has that quaint & rustic feeling but with running water. Try the mineral hot springs place at the edge of town. Soak in the pools while you soak up the beautiful scenery.
Such a cute town north of Yellowstone. Good food, cute souvenir shops, lots of elk. Could definitely see using one of the wildlife viewing packages as a bonus since there isn’t much to see at Yellowstone north besides Mammoth Springs. Stop by Gardiner Gifts on 2nd street for a huge selection of Yellowstone souvenirs WITHOUT having to look at Trump paraphernalia. Nice little candy shop as well.
Great place to stay, so close to the park entrance. I wish there were a few more fast food restaurant options but otherwise it was great location! We loved the Yellowstone Grill, amazing place for breakfast. Parking in the tourist part of town was kind of hectic due to a recent fire but if you give yourself some extra time, it’s still nice to walk around. The elk hang out in the town in the fall and that was SO cool to see them cross the streets, and hang out in the lawn areas. Watch for big horn sheep and elk on your way from Gardiner to Mammoth. The park entrance near Gardiner is undergoing some major construction right now but all things considered, it didn’t seem to hinder entrance to the park much.
Gardiner is a beautiful little town tucked in the mountains. We loved that we could see wildlife from right outside our hotel. The local restaurants had amazing food. Gardiner was the perfect place for us to stop and relax after a long day of sight seeing in Yellowstone.
Very busy with the restaurants- because of the fire, the season and not many places staffed well enough. Also only 2 places seat after 7 o'clock pm and that's kind of crazy in summer time when you are enjoying the park.
There are other places to stay, upon driving thru town we spotted others that were not represented online. Suggest you make phone calls. Private residences mixed in with businesses, no zoning, limited parking, not good if you have limited mobility. Had 4 meals (bkfst/dinner) at “Wonderland Restaurant”, it was clean & great service. Not the quickest but every meal is made to order! Gardiner Market was a fully stocked grocery store, great service & everything we needed to take with us for our roadside picnics!
