We loved the setting of the cabin. It was also near one of the wedding events. The other was around in Tahoe City. We loved the whole area. Both days of the wedding were full dinners and parties and open bars, so we didn't use restaurants other that those of the wedding venue. Both places were beautiful! The children were excluded from the two full days of activities. The one thing we could have used was a babysitting service that was a bonded company that would have come to the cabin to watch the 3 and 5 year-olds. The mother had to miss the two days of events because there was no one to babysit the children.
The location was good, surrounding nature most beautiful. The place was dirty, floors were dirty, in the master bedroom bedside lamp was missing a lightbulb ( informed the front desk about it after the first night, they never replaced it), inside the armoire in the master bedroom were some lingerie from the previous guest ( disgusting!) again informed the front desk, they did nothing about it! The pillows were hard as tree trunks, in this price category one would expect better quality bedding!! The area was beautiful, we did lot of hiking, many hiking trails near by! We did not try any water sports in the location. Definitely visit the Emerald Bay, Tahoe City had few good eateries, we liked The Blue Agave. Getting around Tahoe by car was easy, although they were doing some road constructions so at times there were only one line at use. Sand Harper beach was beautiful, bring some floaties and bag a lunch! Overall, I cannot recommend the place we stayed at, but the North Tahoe was absolutely gorgeous!!! We did not like South Tahoe at all.
Homewood is beautiful! West shore indeed, is the best shore. Meeks Bay's sandy beach is 8 miles away and restaurants, like The River Grill in Tahoe City, are fantastic. Our favorite place to eat is Firesign with their wonderful food and great atmosphere,
It’s the very bedroom of Tahoe.
