What we did see during our three days in Houma was...
What we did see during our three days in Houma was impressive. The natives were very friendly! The layout of the city streets and avenues were conductive to getting to our destinations quickly.
The Military Museum requires a visit (be prepared to spend at least a couple hours). The museum is a gem of military equipment from the Civil War to the present will bring a smile to those who served.
There were other sites we wanted to see but did not have time.
If low to mid-budget shopping is your desire, the city will certainly satisfy.
We will return to Houma in the near future for another quiet, relaxing visit. And we shall eat again at Boudreaux's and Thibodeaux's; the fried fish is succulent.

I grew up in HOUMA.
I grew up in HOUMA. There is a lot of different attractions to visit that you can't see in other states. My son and kids loved visiting the GREENWOOD ALLIGATOR FARM on BAYOU BLACK. Every time I come back to visit HOUMA, my wife has to eat at BIG AL'S seafood on Tunnel Blvd.

Very spread out, so you have to drive everywhere.
Very spread out, so you have to drive everywhere. Low key town. Found a couple of interesting cafes, but you have to search. There is a bit of a historic center near the church. Had a good night at Music Cove with a great band.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly one lady whose name I did not get. The location was good, room was clean, and the place was close to plenty of good food options. Other than the poor room service this was a nice place to stay for 4 nights.
