We decided to stay in jersey city after a day in New York as it was very quick travel and got us closer to Liberty State Park for the next day. To find a hotel with free parking and access to our car was key. Not having to drag your suitcase down the streets from your payed parking spot was a nice luxury to have. Jersey city is only 6 miles from midtown Manhattan and 6 miles from Liberty state park. After the statue of liberty, Jersey city has a KPot which is a must try or go if you've been before! AYCE!!!!
If you want to visit Manhattan every day the PATH (basically a metro, going to Jersey) is the way to go if you will use public transport. BUT! If you are a foreigner check first how the foreign credit/debit cards work (or better to say how they are not) with the ticket wending machines.... they are funny things and usually do not accept cash.
We actually visited NYC for most of our stay, but it was a nice convenient option to balance the cost of staying right in the city, and easy access into the city. The people in the area (beyond just the hotel staff) were nice, friendly, and helpful. Enjoyed the stay!
For me as a visitor from Europe Jersey City is the perfect place to stay when visiting NYC. On one hand you have this marvelous view of downtown Manhattan - on the other hand you have a lot of shopping options at the nearby mall within Jersey City. Taking a boat trip to Manhattan and back is wonderful. Jersey City is a lot less stressful than Manhattan as a place to stay overnight. I love it here.
It was a great cheaper alternative to staying in NYC. We were going to a concert at the Brooklyn Steel pier so with traffic it was about 40 minutes to get there on a Saturday night, but we hung out in Brooklyn for a while before the show. In the morning, we went to Liberty State Park and saw the Statue of Liberty and a 911 memorial (you can take the ferry from this park to the Statue of Liberty) The bathrooms at this park were very well kept and the whole park was big and beautiful. On the way back home we stopped at Wonder Bagels which was crowded but worth the wait. Lots of shops around and it looks like a lot is being done to enhance the area.
We weren't able to stay too long, but in the 24 hours we were there, we ate in one superb Irish pub and followed the next day with a delicious brunch at a French bistro. The weather was perfect for a walk around the harbor and a cool brew at an open air beer garden. While we were there a cultural event was taking place and an open air market was being conducted in the square just outside our hotel. If you're bored in Jersey City, it's probably on you
Easy to get to hotel despite street construction. The free parking is fantastic, check-in easy and staff helpful. Room and beds a bit small but fine, quiet even though on street side, bathroom fine, big TV, climate control, partial skyline view. Breakfast was nice and plenty of options. Overall very happy with this hotel for a visit to NYC
This is a great value for money place to stay. Super easy to access NY city and the view of Manhatten from our hotel window was magic. Free breakfast included. They don't cater for GF but yoghurt and fruit. Honestly so much better value for money than staying in Manhatten. Given we were by the Holland tunnel the rooms where super quiet.
The suite was big with 2 double beds and the staff were brilliant, who couldn't do enough for us. Even the breakfast was good value. The hotel is situated next to a shopping centre so good location as well, ans 1 minute walk from the harbour side looking towards manhatton.
Stayed in Jersey City to visit New York. We love the hotel here and the area nearby. Walking distance to coffee, food, etc. we will be coming back again for sure. Also the hotel staff and room were perfect. No complaints. Amazing all around!!!
The view of the terrace and the ability to easily connect to the tv as well as adjust temp in the room. The room seemed to be cleaned well. No left over hair or dirt from previous guests which is common at hotels.
lots of variety Indian restaurants , train station nearby , friendly staff . I would like to refer this hotel to my friends
great location near Path station. convenient room for 5 and you know what to expect.
Did not eat at hotel. Walked a few blocks and ate breakfast for much cheaper
the hotel asked for masks to be worn (even if many passengers ignored it)
