The front desk lady, Rachel, did a great job. It seemed as though she was the jack of all trades and was there everyday we were, checking in and out guests and helping in the kitchen area in the mornings. She deserves a raise!

Nice town. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Has some of the old charm as well as new places to keep up with the times. Lots of natural beauty, lakeshore and Ketchi ta kipi. The 3 Seasons Diner served a real nice lunch/dinner. Going back for breakfast!
We always enjoy the beach and boardwalks. Walking out to the lighthouse and we ate at Big Boy this time around. A little pricy but well worth it. I think we’d definitely make a point to stop there again. Our stay here is always short but should be longer.
Love Manistique & Gulliver ! Have been vacationing there for over 25 years, staying in our family cottage on Gulliver lake. Sadly, there was need to sell cottage last Summer, hence the need to find other accommodations. We still have our favorites spots to visit such as The Big Spring, Indian Lake & too many others to mention all. It's a wonderful place to relax & unwind !
Visited Manistique for our annual snowshoeing in the U.P. It's a nice little town with basic things to do. We visited Indian Lake State Park to hit their trails, Palms Book State Park to see Kitch iti kipi, and a local marked ski trail down from Palms Book. Try The Downtowner for some good food. Big Boy is average, and cost a little more than Central Michigan locations. No McDonalds, sorry guys. Plenty of wildlife, saw lots of foot trails while snowshoeing. Rabbit, coyote, deer. Wolves are in the area, didn't see any though. Be alert on trails and don't go out on them past dusk as the wildlife do come out.
Let me adjust my 'no recommendation'. Manistique doesn't have much - it's a very small town with not a lot to do, however, if you're just passing through, it's not a bad place to stay. There's a small casino just out of town and there's a couple of shops to see, but don't expect more than that.
Used as a central point to leave and come back to each night. Big Springs was fantastic, and also enjoyed Fayette State Park. Board walk is a wonderful was to spend an evening with family, just walking along Lake Michigan.
