A quaint and lovely NH town with plenty of yummy restaurants...
A quaint and lovely NH town with plenty of yummy restaurants (Lago for Italian was so good and don’t miss the famous Hart’s Turkey Farm restaurant) and even a fun, fruit-forward winery - but lacking a bit in shopping. Definitely a few cute shops for souvenirs and local art, and a great bookstore. Needs one or two more clothing and accessory stores. The town is historic and looks and feels it and there are fun plaques around explaining things plus a cool outdoor sculpture exhibit in various places. Traffic is a lot but it’s the height of summer so people have to be patient. Same with busy restaurants and coffee shops. The focus is the lake, however, and there were a variety of ways to access it and be on it and in it. We took a fab sunset cruise with a local captain who was informative and entertaining. Stunning views from everywhere. A stellar place overall.

The location of this hotel was perfect.
The location of this hotel was perfect. There are a lot of restaurant choices and most are walkable. The room was spacious and very clean. There are quaint towns which are an easy drive around the lake.

Meredith is a favorite area of ours, we’ve been coming here...
Meredith is a favorite area of ours, we’ve been coming here for over 40 years and know the area pretty well. Summer and Fall are our most popular times to visit the area. Watching the Fourth of July fireworks at the Lake is a fun and relaxing experience. We love the shops and Giuseppe’s at The Mill, Vida at the Lake, Hermit Woods Winery, CAMP, the Annalee store, Etcetera shop where I often consign clothes and other goods, Hannaford’s is handy for groceries/supplies, and we always stop at Moulton Farm for fresh produce, baked goods and their famous cider belly donuts.

It is a beautiful location on the lake and outlet shopping is close by as well. The restaurants all had excellent food and shopping at the Marketplace at the Mill was plentiful. There are many hiking trails as well.

Over the years Meredith has become a very congested spot.
Over the years Meredith has become a very congested spot. The original Mills area has been completely revamped for summer tourism. Areas to explore if you have a car include the Hobo Railroad, Castle in the Clouds, Gunstock Mountain, Mount Washington Cruises, and some of the smaller public beaches if you have no access otherwise. The Fall colors are indescribable in the Lakes Region. A must see.

We try to make sure we get away at least once a year .
We try to make sure we get away at least once a year .We found the Mill at the lake by accident one year Pre Covid, we asked to walk around the property and we loved it, we have been celebrating our anniversary there ever since, There's Nothing better than waking up to silence..

Hotel Common Man restaurants cartel generally good food.
For a rural hotel experience, I think they were doing the best they could due to staffing shortage.

The hotel is beautiful, very good room, amazing view, very well located. And close to a nice sky resort. We will go back. The staff is very polite and always willing to help.
