Overlooking Meredith Bay, this restored 19th-century linen mill combines old-world charm with modern amenities including free Wi-Fi. Very large and comfortable room. This hotel is well located and offers a wide selection of food options. This is the first hotel that I can remember that has two luggage racks in the room.
Located in Meredith, Ballard House Inn has a fitness center, shared lounge, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. A beautifully renovated farmhouse in a great location. The innkeeper Fez is a great host and a wealth of local knowledge. Food was excellent.
Meredith is centrally located in the Lakes region. There is plenty to do and a lot of great restaurants, we ate at Hearts turkey farm, delicious! There is shopping and boating and hiking all in the area. The traffic is not to bad, we were there on a Holiday weekend, and we traveled up to North Conway, which was much busier. There are several ski areas in the area, all within a half hour driving time. Will definitely go back.
Stayed at Church landing as I received a free upgrade due to misleading website. Was very happy with the room at church landing. Didn’t like paying $30.00 a night extra either. Nothing was opened. Should have waved that fee. I understand it is pricey normally. The restaurant Lakeside Or lakeshores is not that great. Food presentation is great but $9.00 for a basic salad no meat is crazy. Got cold onion soup. Had to send it back. $40.00 for 2 cups of soup and 2 salads.
Great place for spouses to get away. Great place for families as well. So much to do and see, make sure you stay long. Walk along the lake, walk along the near by shops, there’s something for everyone. An hour away is the Flume gorge, make sure to check that out, very kid friendly for the little ones to walk and explore the rock views and water fall. For a romantic dinner night try the the Mt. Washington dinner cruise. Very affordable and great dinner. You tour the lake and eat a great meal. Walk the ship and listen to live music. For a more adventurous experience try the drive up Mt. Washington. 6,300 ft high with breath taking views! Do not recommend if you are afraid of heights though.
Meredith and the surrounding towns are a vacation favorite of ours. The beaches are clean and the people are friendly. There are many places to eat as well as gift shops and is close to the world's largest arcade!
I love this area. Compass Cafe - a great spot for breakfast and lunch! Harts Turkey Farm - great for lunch or dinner and T-Bones is great for American food and family dining! Everything you need is within 5 miles. If shopping is what you seek, there are outlets, and Country Generals store. Most of the gift type shops close mid September. Wonderful for leaf peeping in Fall, skiing in winter, swimming/boating in summer months. Lots of activity places for kids.
Atmosphere is one of family and friends enjoying time together. We took a horse carriage ride, the food was phenomenal, and we loved watching people ice fish and snowmobile on the lake. It's a wonderful place to visit year round!

The best breakfast I ever had. Very friendly hosts. Enjoy staying in this comfy place
