Monument Valley is a spectacular place, dominated by the magical rock formations which give it the name. One is completely immersed in the vast redness of the valley, dotted by speckles of green shrubs. To stand there is a truly humbling experience.
Quality of the Navajo Guide who provided amazing information about the history of the place and Navajo tribe and drove us from one amazing location to the next for 3 hours. Recommend the sunset tour with Monument Valley Tribal Tour
After visiting all five National Parks of Utah, Monument Valley was a bit of a disappointment. We could see all that there was to see in less than two hours (unless we paid a lot for a private tour) and there was not any options to hike and explore the Tribal Park besides the scenic drive.
The Valley was wonderful. We booked a 3.5 hour trip with a local from the Nation, and wit was work it. They are able to take you off road and you get a chance to walk about, hear stories and learn about the culture. Well worth the money.
Monument Valley certainly worthies a visit. But as a tourist, one time is enough. The area has nothing to see once the tribal park is closed at 5pm. The waiting time to get in the park is very long (depending on the time of the day) if you drive your own vehicle. Once you get inside the park, you need to get out in 2 hours.
Amazing area and I’ve travelled around the world. It is one of my greatest finds! Plenty of opportunities for all kinds of travelers young and old! We drove north of our hotel to Muleys Point, Valley of the Gods and ate on our way back in Mexican Hat. We toured around Oljato as well on horseback as well as a conducted evening tour. We had a blast!
Monument Valley
We appreciated having a cabin to ourselves, with a private patio. Even though not unique to Goulding's, we liked the proximity to the self-guided drive through the Monument Valley Tribal Park that we took the next morning.
