Featuring a garden, Wildflower Boutique Motel is located in Point Arena. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Jeff is very kind. He offers help sincerely and clearly. The room and bed are well designed and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent, much better than conventional cafe. Highly recommended. Will come back again.
Loved the Wild Flower Motel, the breakfast was brought to our room and it was delicious. We had fun exploring and seeing Bowling Ball Beach. Great places to eat and just walk around. The weather was wonderful. Next time we will definitely go to the beach at sunset.
Not much there except a general store and a couple art galleries. We were blown away by the most amazing pastries from Franny's Cup & Saucer. Bowling Ball beach has really interesting rock formations (go at low tide). The powerful waves around the lighthouse at new moon are really impressive. It can take a while to get there, but make the scenic drive up Highway 1 an enjoyable part of your trip.
This is an amazing little town. Franny's Cup and Saucer is just perfect. Don't miss the Friday Donut of the week-check out the weekly offering on their Facebook page. Will be trying out the Supper Club later this week. (open Thur-Sat) Sorry to see the nice Market has recently closed. Loved the B Bryan Preserve and the Light House. Will be hiking more of the trails. Just a fabulous gem tucked away.
Pt. Arena is a small village between Mendocino and Gulala. The location is low key, a couple of good restaurants and close to the light house which is fascinating. The cliffs in the area are very different than further south ... all sandstone and vertically layered thanks to the giant uplift that occurred here. It’s the perfect quiet getaway. And, the natural beauty is marvelous.
Very small, quiet, peaceful beach town. Visited general store, s and b market up the road in Manchester, the cove arena where main beach is. They have movie theater in town and they put on first run movies, documentaries etc. Took some food with me, but general store folks make GREAT RIBS!!! Talk to Christie, Lars and Kelly 😊
Small town with very little to recommend it. A bit of any eyesore in an otherwise beautiful area and an incongruity in that all the other towns along this route are gorgeous. Mendocino is the polar opposite of Point Arena and is a spectacular example of Californian northern coastal architecture.
