Check in was quick and easy - staff was very friendly. Room we stayed in was huge. Room and bathroom was updated and very clean. The breakfast spread had a huge selection and was amazing! The pool and hot tub inside was also very clean. Hotel felt safe even with the doors to the rooms being outside (I am very hesitant typically to stay at places with this layout.)

The location was exceptional! Being right on the water you can watch the sun rise over the lake every morning. In the evening, a large firepit was available for anyone to join and only steps from the beach. The grounds were very well maintained and decorated for the fall season. The rooms were super clean as was the indoor pool and all other amenities. Their breakfast was the best with choices of eggs, sausage, different omelets waffles, cold cereal and freshly baked cinnamon buns. Free shuttle to and from the ferry dock to Mackinac Island also.

A lakeside town that reminds me of beachside towns back home. They have shops, restaurants, events, activities and ice cream (Molly Moos). With a few ferry services to the island this makes it a hot spot. A nice boardwalk and a couple lakeside beaches for the dog to splash in. The weather here is so much cooler and better in the summer then the LP. St I is within a short drive to Painted Rocks NL, Whitefish Point, and Saulte Saint Marie. Hiking trails are plentiful.

Bayview Inn is essentially charging me over $200 because they didn't check their voicemail. I left three message cancelling my reservation but they said they were charging me for the room anyway. The employee with whom I spoke said they did not get my messages but the recording on the voicemail confirmed I had reached the Bayview Inn and said someone would call me back. No one did until they called to tell me I'd be charged for the cancelled date. I would hope I'm worth more than $215 as a customer and I hope their reputation is worth more than $215.

Unfortunately, our stay was short and we didn't spend much time in St. Ignace. It was a good place to get the ferry to Mackinaw Island. A big plus was that the Arnold ferry sent a shuttle to pick us up at the motel and was waiting to drive us back when we returned from the island. Very convenient, quick, and complementary!

Saint Ignace was a nice community, but we did not spend much time there. Our trip included a ferry to Mackinac Island with Shepler's. Shepler's conveniently picks up riders at the Sunset Motel. On Mackinac Island, we walked and did touristy things, including playing Disc Golf on the 9-hole course. The person working at the Sunset Motel front desk suggested a few restaurants, including "Wild Blueberry Breakfast & Bakery," which I definitely recommend for a tasty breakfast.

St Ignace is such a nice alternative for those who prefer a quieter, more relaxed stay while visiting other tourist attractions, of which there are many in the area, or the local healthcare facilities like we were. There are plenty of places nearby to eat too. And a full service grocery that I enjoyed. If you want to or are doing the Tourist thing, there are plenty of shops and of course it's only a short trip back across the bridge to visit the more touristy and costly side "Mac City". It's a short boat ride from St. Ignace to visit Mackinaw Island for the ultimate tourist experience in the area. In general the area is rich in history and incredible scenery. There are outdoor activities nearby as well. Overall we prefer St. Ignace for its all around benefits and accommodations.

The town is definitely a tourist location.

The town is definitely a tourist location. As we were there early in the season, we stayed the first weekend in May, not all the tourist sites were open. But none the less, we still had a great time!! The town is very cozy. Has lots of history of the Mackinac bridge! Getting around town was super easy from our hotel.

This Motel is absolutely spotless. Not a piece of dust on the floorboards not a water spot on the sink. We've stayed in lots of motels all over....the persons cleaning this motel are exceptional. Check in and out was fast. Bed was comfy. Good location to ferry docks if you're visiting the Island and owner sells discounted tickets. A cute UP Motel, well taken care of.

We loved the location right by the lake — the view was beautiful and it felt very peaceful. The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were kind and helpful. It was super convenient that we could buy our ferry tickets directly at the hotel, and the shuttle picked us up right there to go to the dock! Breakfast was also nice and made mornings easy.
