It's such a quaint little city with great restaurants and...

It's such a quaint little city with great restaurants and bars. I think if you're traveling with kids, if you're wanting somewhere where you can just walk out your front door and walk right to the beach easily, it might not be the location, but for the older crowd, it's perfect and anything you want to do beach is only a couple minutes away. Perfect for couples we find St. Joseph and Southaven better cities for the young ones because of the access right to the beaches so easily but you definitely have to go to saugatuck. It's a cool little city

We have been visiting Saugatuck for 40 years now!

We have been visiting Saugatuck for 40 years now! We love it so much! Perfect downtown area filled with wonderful shops and the best restaurants!! We have never had a bad meal there! Some of the shops change to new vendors so there is always a surprise while walking around. It’s right around the corner from Oval Beach on Lake Michigan. Absolutely beautiful! The Star of Saugatuck is an hour 1/2 ride down the Kalamazoo River then a short jaunt out into the big lake. Narrated as you pass along, very nice. Charge is about $42 adults, $20 or so for kids. Dune buggy rides are available out on Blue Star Hwy that take you around and over the sand dunes!! How fun!! Kids will love it!! It’s located close enough to other towns along the Lake Michigan coast that are nice to visit if you are staying longer.

Lovely town especially in the off season when there are not...

Lovely town especially in the off season when there are not so many tourist. We usually go in Spring and Fall. Great shops, galleries and restaurants. Close to beaches and Holland for an extra treat

There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking...

There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance in the town. Wicks Park Bar & Grille had plenty of outdoor seating and really good food, Back Alley Pizza Joint had really good pizza and The Old Boat House had seating on the deck along the Kalamazoo river, amazing food and drinks. The people were friendly and there was plenty of parking along the streets and public restrooms that were clean and well located.

Great downtown with super shops and plenty to eat.

Great downtown with super shops and plenty to eat. (Week of Thanksgiving did have a lot of closed establishments.) Nice fall and holiday decorations. Friendly staff everywhere. Easy to get around - summer would be more traffic. Lots of just neat shops. Open to all!! Plan on coming back in season when warmer.

Parking in Saugatuck is a pain.

Parking in Saugatuck is a pain. Too bad there isn't more of it, finding a spot is frustrating. We actually didn't stay very long because not everyone likes to shop and we didn't have a lot of time. Sometime I'd like to come back and sample the restaurants and breweries. Next time. Beautiful town, beautiful homes.

The location was great in our visit around Michigan lake. Very close to a beautiful summer spot in Saugatuck. So well to a pretty city Holland. The owner of the property welcomed us and was very friendly. Nice swimming pool and hot tub. Nice breakfast

I loved the warm welcome and the beautiful decor in this gem of a hotel. It felt like home - really cosy and relaxing. The breakfast was a la carte and very tasty. Our bedroom was beautiful and the bathroom was a delight.
