The person that checked me in was very nice, very accommodating and answered all of my questions. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was nice and warm when I got there. Considering it was 26 degrees when I got there, that was very nice.

The owners were friendly and helpful. Very close to Linville Falls and plenty of hiking. We have stayed at the Linville Falls national park on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the past, very rustic with no water or electricity. Linville Falls Campground and RV Park offer full RV hookups for a little more money!

Received a lovely welcome. Room was great and outdoor seating area a real bonus. Also as we were on a motorcycle we were given towels to wipe the bike after overnight rain. Loved it and would come again.

It is a very small town with 3 good restaurants right down...

It is a very small town with 3 good restaurants right down the hill from our cabin. We never made it to the bookstore which looked well-stocked and charming. It is a 3-4 mile drive to Emerald Village which was the reason for our trip.

Town of Spruce Pine is nice and surprisingly widely varied...

Town of Spruce Pine is nice and surprisingly widely varied with shopping center, Gem Convention Center, and most anything one might need on a vacation stay. The closest competition to this motel is the Switzerland Inn at the next BRP exit south. There is no comparison. Pay the extra money and stay there.

Quiet rustic cabin on top of a mountain.

Quiet rustic cabin on top of a mountain. All the comforts of home are provided including satellite tv. Horseback riding, fishing and hiking are available right on the property. Really nice, friendly people at the check in lodge. We saved a lot of money staying here by making meals for ourselves in the fully stocked (pots, pans, plates, utensils etc)kitchen. That left more money for other interests like gem mining, gold panning, antiquing and shopping. Overall it’s a great place to stay!
