Room is old but the balcony is great. Outdoor environment is super great. Staff in the reception area is friendly and helpful. The food in the onsite restaurant is great, and in particular the lady receptionist in the restaurant cares about the customers, and is very patient with kids. My kid loves this place.

The cabins were small but so nicely furnished with everything you could want. Loved the fact that solar power is used. The pool is wonderful, and the grounds offered nice walking paths. Sitting on the deck in the evening, listening to the crickets and owls was very peaceful. Didn't get to use a bike, but I appreciate that they were supplied and hope that I have more time on my next visit.
We tried 2 of their recommended restaurants, both were excellent. The small camp store was convenient. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The house is large in beautiful surroundings not far from Yosemite valley. Has all necessary amenities.
We thought Wawona to be quiet and serene. The cabin we stayed at was easily accessible, but felt private. The corner store was convenient for ice cream to go with our homemade cookies and brownies. We found Glacier Point and Tunnel View easily for spectacular views of Yosemite Valley.

I love the small-town, woodsy feel of Wawona.
I love the small-town, woodsy feel of Wawona. If we didn't have our dog with us, we would have eaten at the Wawona Hotel. It's always nice for dinner. There are nice streets to stroll along, and the river isn't too far to walk to. The Pioneer Center is a nice place to visit. Wawona is so relaxing, without the hustle and bustle of many tourists. We had a picnic near the Pioneer Center next to the river, and it was delightful. I was surprised how crowded the Valley was in October, during the middle of the week. I have never seen it like that before. That's why I usually go in October/November or April/May. It's also nice to have a fire in the fireplace, which isn't possible during the summer months.

Relatively quiet rural community with access to hiking trails. There is a small store in the community, and a larger store a mile away. The Wawona Hotel is the only nearby place to get dinner, so it is best to plan to cook or barbeque your own. The drive to Yosemite Valley is scenic and takes about 50 minutes, depending on the traffic.
It is within Yosemite Park limits and close to the spectacular and popular Mariposa Grove of ancient redwoods.

My husband worked as a Wawona Ranger from the late 70's thru mid-80's. We have always loved the area. Especially love the changes to the Mariposa Grove. A great experience. Two grocery stores - one at Pine Tree Market and another is the Wawona Grocery. Enough to keep you supplied if you've left anything behind. Prices can be more expensive, being in a National Park, but that should be expected. Wawona is just a laid back part of Yosemite National Park. The Valley is beautiful and a day trip to it from Wawona is certainly possible. Glacier Point Road is half-way between Wawona and Yosemite Valley. The only problem right now - isn't the Redwoods fault.....it's that the NPS stopped the reservation system and now it takes around two hours to get into the park and then those going to the Valley could get turned around at El Capitan because parking is full in the Valley. A real cluster. Suggest checking in advance delays....etc.

Located within the National Forest, Wawona is our preferred base for exploring Yosemite. It is a pretty place in itself with plentiful walking trails through the trees, a branch of the Merced river curling through it - offering swimming opportunities - and a variety of options for accommodations. It is also perfect for exploring both the Yosemite Valley and the Giant Sequoias at Mariposa Grove.

50R was infested with mice.
50R was infested with mice. Do not leave any food inside house the mice eat everything. Beds are so uncomfortable. Only 2 baths for 10 people in a 4 bedroom house. No AC rooms too hot. Could not sleep from heat, mice, and very uneven king bed.
We loved our stay at Evergreen. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Location is stunning, so peaceful and scenic. Wish we had stayed longer.
Ideal location to get to Yosemite Valley which is a 40 min drive. And what an amazing drive too! Mariposa Grove of Sequoias 10mins away, also a must see.
We stopped off at the Vons supermarket in Oakhurst for supplies on the way there.
Highly recommended as a place to stay in Yosemite.
It’s a really lovely cabin inside the Yosemite National Park, so you don’t need to pay again for the park entrance fee on the second day. Really quiet at night and close to Giant sequoia loops. The cabin is exceptionally clean and the kitchen is full equipped for cooking a simple meal. Easy to access into the cabin with the email from landlord. Really reasonable price for such a good location and good house conditions.
Super cute house with everything you need for a family stay in Yosemite. We were so happy we chose this over a hotel outside the park gates - very relaxing and beautiful little area. We shopped for groceries in Fresno on our way, and it was great to be able to make our own lunches to take with us on hikes. Although we visited in July, the nights were cool so we didn't need AC (fans are provided in the house).
