Lovely breakfast options, almost too many. Great restaurant setting for breakfast too. Good location close to eateries and cafes.

Most travelers skip Haiphong. This is a mistake. If you travel to eat, don’t skip Haiphong. The food is interesting, delicious, varied and exceptional. We had the best Pho here that we’ve had in four trips to Vietnam. The people of Haiphong are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The city center has a lovely park running through it. The old colonial architecture is rundown in places but interesting to look at. We stayed out of the old city in a modern development, but would stay in the center next time even though GRAB and the city bus are easy to use.

Food was great in Hai Phong. With a wide variety catering to other nationality. Seafood is still the freshest in Hai Phong but it is not my cup of tea. Hai Phong is more famous for it ship building and metal industries. So metal parts are normally cheaper in Hai Phong.

Hai Phong has virtually no tourist infrastructure and it very difficult to figure the place out. A lot of Internet references lead you to places that don't exist at the address mentioned. Finding food was challenging. No one speaks English. There really isn't a lot to look at anyway. Colonial quarter is nice sort of but there are better examples in Hanoi, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh city to name a few. We found one brilliant restaurant. Best we found in Vietnam by a long way. It was called Nam Giao (22 Le Dai Hanh st). Go there if you are in town. You'll be blown away. Great beers on tap as well.

If you’re looking for a real Vietnamese city adventure, Hai Phong should be on your list. We literally saw no tourists. Everything is pure and the city has a couple of cool sights. The food is great and the cheapest of whole Vietnam.

Just around the corner is a bazaar where you can sample local specialities. The room was large, bright, clean with a balcony and a beautiful view of the city. We had a small problem with the drain in the bathroom but it was quickly fixed by the staff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hai Phong.
