Located a 14-minute walk from Champagne Beach, Lonnoc Ocean View Bungalows has accommodations with a restaurant, water sports facilities and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Cute bungalows right on the beach with some of the softest sand my feet has ever touched. Sylvie and James were great hosts and helped me out with everything I needed. You can use the kayaks to visit the nearby champagne beach and take a bus/car to stunning blue holes. Was traveling solo and met some really nice people there. The bungalows are simple but you really dont need much more! A really nice family run business!
Set in a beautiful waterfront location, Turtle Bay Lodge is a 20-minute drive from Luganville and a 25-minute drive from Santo-Pekoa International Airport. We loved most things about this place. Beautifully located on Turtle Bay, Santo with views in every direction of a turquoise sea, framed by palms and tropical trees. Away from the road and quiet, very welcoming staff and helpful response/suggestions to our questions about what to do etc. On site restaurant offered well prepared tasty food and the wait staff were excellent. Chris the restaurant frontman was everywhere and, despite being busy, never lost his cool. Mick and Vicky manage the place extremely well and happily engage with the guests. Great options for water related activities including some very good coral gardens on the nearby reef and the chance of catching sight of a turtle or dugong.
Barrier Beach House offers accommodations in Saraotou, 20 minutes' drive from Santo Pekoa International Airport. This beachfront property features an on-site restaurant. Amazing Resort in the middle of a paradise. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Barrier Beach Resort. Our villa was very private and you could almost jump in the ocean from the patio. Breakfast was amazing, not just the tasty hot meals, but pretty much everything. Amazing helpful and friendly staff and wonderful owners. Thank you so much for having us, Julie and Calvin.
Luganvilla Business Hotel and Restaurant offers accommodations in Luganville. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Each room includes a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The cooked breakfast was OK location was great for me to travel to work every morning. Staff were outstanding and could not have been more helpful and pleasant
Offering free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfast, The Espiritu is located in the heart of Luganville, just 5 minutes' walk from shops, cafes and dove centers. Luganville is an underdeveloped area and the hotel is not in the best location as it is in the middle of the Main Street without any natural beauty around. That being said, The hotel was clean and comfortable and the food and staff were amazing. Hands down the best customer service in all of Vanuatu and the Thai food they served would be good if it was served in Bangkok.
If you want 5 star resort or constant Wi-Fi (or power) this is not for you. On the other hand if you want a real holiday like holidays used to be - clean tidy accommodation, comfy beds, amiable hosts, a beach, pristine water, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, exploring then Lonnoc Beach Lodge could be your ticket. It's not far from the main town of Santo, Luganville, but it is remote nonetheless. It is no easy walk to anywhere from the Lodge and taxis on Santo are expensive so I recommend you have transport. If you do, then the World (well in this case Santo) is your oyster. Within easy reach is the famous Champagne Beach but not much further and you are at Port Orly with a longer nicer stretch of beach and simple beach side eateries and cold beer options. You must call in at Hideaway Bay (would warn you about the track in but by now you will be expecting that) Stunning location. Be sure to do the Blue holes. All are beautiful. But if you want to to just sit still, relax, contemplate and sleep and are happy with 3 hours of power daily and no hot water, Lonnoc Beach Lodge will be perfect for you (as it was for me). Thanks hosts Bob and Sarah and Daniel the fisherman too.
It is mildly remote. No hot water, limited electricity, adequate food. A comfortable step above camping. Staff wonderful but few have any experience in an average Australians world. You must adjust your expectation. Extremely beautiful and peaceful. Life slows right down. Up with the sun and to bed with the chooks. Summer is hot but most of the year is great. Suck up the awkward bits and enjoy the location. Lovely swimming and snorkeling.
