Incredible views and amazing design. The cottage was very well thought out with a living room, separate bedroom, and connecting outdoor space. Facilities were very thoughtful — outlets everywhere, functional bathroom, etc. Food was very good.

The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. They made us awesome breakfast with an incredible view over Walker Bay. I especially like the freshly cut fruit salad and my egg was done perfectly. The rooms were tidy and very clean. The WiFi was good.

The host (Johannes) was able to accommodate me last minute deciding to arrive early which was amazing and allowed me a day of exploring without luggage. Location is a short walk from a beautiful coastal hiking trail and beaches to explore and Johannes was so helpful with suggestions for where to go and directions on how to get there. The surrounding area feels very safe, as a solo female traveller, I felt comfortable walking places even after dark. I was offered a free room upgrade as I was the only guest for the night. The room was bright and clean and the whole bnb was decorated and felt homey. The breakfast in the morning was filling and made by Johannes himself. Johannes was also able to arrange a shuttle to take me to my next destination. I’ve been staying in hostels so this was a very nice change and honestly the best sleep I’ve had since arriving in SA! Thank you!

We had an international wine and food society event over the weekend so visited all the wineries in the area as well as Stanford. Gansbaai was in the middle, so to speak, so very convenient for trips.

The penguin rehabilitation centre was excellent. The harbour is not tourist friendly. If you come to Gansbaai you would love to eat take away fish, But Saturday ,late afternoon no fish and chips were open

It is close to De Kelders, where we saw MANY whales. it is close to Franskraal, which is beautiful. The Boat trip at Marine Dynamics was awesome and the food and atmosphere at the restaurant was exceptional.

Gansbaai was a comfortable city with spectacular views where our family explored the southern coast of South Africa. We discovered hidden beaches, spotted many beautiful Protea flowers, sunbathed on Pearly Beach, went to the fish market in the harbor at Gansbaai, lunched on butter chicken and fish and chips at the Blue Goose, restaurant on Hoop St, hiked Klipgat Caves at the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, glimpsed a pod of orcas, and a mother Southern Right whale and her calf, spotted three of the Marine Big 5, dined at the White House, saw Danger Point lighthouse along a four wheel drive track along the beach, found crazy amounts of beautiful shells on the beach. It was an epic adventure.
