Excellent overnight stay, very pleasant and quiet on the river, close to the entrance to Kruger Park. We were very well received, and loved the ample space in the room and bathroom. Dinner and breakfast on the terraced area with views of the river were wonderful and relaxed. Car parked safely inside the gate. We would definitely like to visit again!

We had a LOVELY stay (3 nights) here over the last couple of nights. The staff is really friendly, from the owners to their staff. The place itself is absolutely clean. Yes, some things seem a bit old, but that’s more the style and vibe of the place. We loved it. Special mention to the cook! The dinners were nothing short of spectacular! I’ve rarely eaten food in my life that seemed (and looked) so “regular” but managed to surprise me and surpass any and every expectation. The brai was simply out of this world!!

Absolutely amazing and incredible little piece of paradise. I truly fell in love, everything was perfect: the lush nature, the room, the facilities, the restaurant and amazing food, the bar, the staff. The day of my departure I was truly sad to be leaving, but I hope I will come back again, the next time for a much longer stay. Even the departure was a bit magical, as a giraffe greeted us on the road.

We have travelled through and stayed in Malelane three times...

We have travelled through and stayed in Malelane three times. My view is it is the best route and gate to travel to when entering Kruger. We have stayed in Malelane on our stays for an aggregate of four nights. We found it safe albeit a bit scruffy. The upside is views of Crocodile River the closeness of the gate and the opportunity to re-fuel and get provisions. (From the UK)

Malelane town itself is ok - good food shopping available.

Malelane town itself is ok - good food shopping available. Its benefit is its proximity to Kruger National Park. Would recommend Hamiltons restaurant not far from the park gate and The Deck a bit further along Crocodile river with great views of the river.

We use Malelane as our last stop into Kruger.

We use Malelane as our last stop into Kruger. Being 7 hours away not only is it a good resting stop after a long drive but also the opportunity to stock up on Supplies. There is everything you need at the Mall. Between Spar & now Woolworths you are able to stock up well. Nice and close to entrance to Kruger.

A nice place to be. Not enough for a short stay. There is so much to do and see if you visit a place a few days. The Kruger Park is within reach. The eateries are relatively a few km away. Rural but very nice experience for an urban person.

The room we were initially offered was not fit for...

The room we were initially offered was not fit for habitation. Our next room on first impression seemed better but we found it had mouldy shower recess, no hot water, broken blinds and window coverings, no phone , a non functioning power point so no hair dryer and chipped outdoor furniture.. We did not get what we paid for and when bought to management’s attention all we got were excuses. A very disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money.

The hotel location is great. It is close to supermarkets, garage, few restaurants and just 10-15 min drive to Malelane kruger Gate. There is a great view of the crocodile river, while you are at the hotel restaurant. The room was spacious, had an aircon which came in handy. The hospitality was great, the staff was friendly, and even offered blankets while we were sitting near the restaurant

The location is good, about 12-15 mins drive to Malalane gate of the Kruger national park. View of the Crocodile River was amazing, we saw a rare white waterbuck and her family, elephants, and crocs. Breakfast was great too. Our hostess was very helpful with all our queries and needs, specially for our 3 year old child.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. The apartment is clean and spacious .Tea and Coffee stations with daily cookies is a great spoil. Daily water bottles in the fridge is a plus point. The Sugar Train Restaurant food is the best.Lodge is close to the Malelane Gate to enter the Kruger National Park.

Peaceful retreat for those looking to stayover after going into the kruger national park. Our host Jane was amazing and exceptional, she ensured we were comfortable and at ease. Staff were friendly too. Overall a great stay.
