It was extremely comfortable and spacious and well appointed with a dining table inside for poor weather, as well as a lovely braii dining area and a further small table for breakfast on the terrace outside the kitchen with a view to the river. There was also an amazing hide overlooking the river.

We have travelled through and stayed in Malelane three times...
We have travelled through and stayed in Malelane three times. My view is it is the best route and gate to travel to when entering Kruger. We have stayed in Malelane on our stays for an aggregate of four nights. We found it safe albeit a bit scruffy. The upside is views of Crocodile River the closeness of the gate and the opportunity to re-fuel and get provisions. (From the UK)

Malelane town itself is ok - good food shopping available.
Malelane town itself is ok - good food shopping available. Its benefit is its proximity to Kruger National Park.
Would recommend Hamiltons restaurant not far from the park gate and The Deck a bit further along Crocodile river with great views of the river.

We use Malelane as our last stop into Kruger.
We use Malelane as our last stop into Kruger. Being 7 hours away not only is it a good resting stop after a long drive but also the opportunity to stock up on Supplies. There is everything you need at the Mall. Between Spar & now Woolworths you are able to stock up well.
Nice and close to entrance to Kruger.

A nice place to be. Not enough for a short stay.
A nice place to be. Not enough for a short stay. There is so much to do and see if you visit a place a few days. The Kruger Park is within reach. The eateries are relatively a few km away. Rural but very nice experience for an urban person.

The place is next to Malelane Kruger national park gate and if you are the for animals sighting, it's an ideal place to be hence the rest camp in the camp are always full if u don't book in time

The room we were initially offered was not fit for...
The room we were initially offered was not fit for habitation. Our next room on first impression seemed better but we found it had mouldy shower recess, no hot water, broken blinds and window coverings, no phone , a non functioning power point so no hair dryer and chipped outdoor furniture.. We did not get what we paid for and when bought to management’s attention all we got were excuses. A very disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money.

I have stayed some other hotels in Malelane, and have stayed Rio vista for several times. My conclusion is that Rio vista is the best place to stay in Malelane. Their receptionists and restaurant staff are very friendly, professional, and always helpuful. I always appreciate their hospitality. Reponse from the receptionists on whatsapp is very quick. The view from the deck is beautiful, facing Crocodile river and Kruger park. I'm happy to give them 10 score.

Excellent location, right on the Crocodile river with their own viewing deck, loads of character and staff very friendly. Close to Malelane gate for Kruger and shops in Malelane for supplies.
