FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

The landscape setting of Cape Town is amazing and colonial-style architecture is to be found in many parts of the city as are good restaurants. The organized tours are the best way to find attractions to be enjoyed more later. Prices in Cape Town are very reasonable in contrast to many tourist destinations outside of Africa, which is a 'plus'. Any visitors should not fail to enjoy the tours that take them into the surrounding beautiful rural areas, especially the not-expensive wine tours.

Cape Town is more expensive than Europe, you must know where you going to, to avoid trouble. The traffic is the worst in South Africa you can spend hours stuck in traffic. Not as clean as it used to be, avoid driving in CT. Garden route is so much better

This is an amazing place to stay. It offers a well equipped kitchen, an heating and cooling system and a super clean home. This property is super clean, close to several shops and restaurants. It is just few minutes walk to the V&A waterfront and other beautiful places in Cape Town. It has a beautiful view of the city, especially at night, and I must say that the comfort, space and facilities makes it a better option than using the hotel. The hotel is very well-situated in Sea Point. The room was spacious and clean, the indoor courtyard was beautiful, both Shoreditch and Harvey's were very good (popular venues that locals also visit), and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a generator that shields you from load shedding. Above all, it's a great place to base yourself when visiting Cape Town and nearby areas.
