The Glen Boutique Hotel & Spa

The Glen Boutique Hotel & Spa

Sea Point, Cape Town

Located in Sea Point in Cape Town, The Glen Boutique Hotel & Spa offers luxurious rooms and free Wi-Fi. The hotel features an outdoor pool with sun loungers and spa facilities. The Glen Boutique Hotel is beautiful! The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. We had booked one of their smaller standard rooms and they upgraded us upon arrival to the amazing presidential suite about a block from the main property. We had actually just gotten engaged two nights previously (unbeknownst to them) and it made a special trip even more memorable! It was also an easy, short walk to the ocean and the Sea Point Promenade which we loved!

Harpers House

Harpers House

Green Point, Cape Town

Situated in trendy Green Point in Cape Town, Harpers House is a renovated Victorian home from 1892 with original features, such as high Victorian pressed ceilings and decorative, antique fireplaces. I really liked the position, walking distance to restaurants etc. The fact there were facilities to prepare food and eat (one did not have eat in bedroom). We ate outside, it was a lovely evening.

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.
