Durban is always clean. Thanks for having visible security around every corner. We know that some people trash the place. But we salute the efforts you take to clean the place. That make our visiting a must every year
We stayed in an apartment on the Durban beach front promenade. The promenade along the Durban North and South beach is fantastic for jogging, walking or cycling, and bicycles can be hired along the way. There are really good restaurants and coffee stops along the way, all with good lookouts to the ocean. If you feel like a swim, the promenade pools are clean and refreshing. Ushaka Marine World, Kings Park Stadium, Moses Mabhida Stadium and the Suncoast Casino are all nearby. However, on the South Beach side, do not wander into the city as it is dirty, unkempt and feels unsafe (which I hope will be rectified in order for travellers to enjoy all that the city has to offer).
Infect I liked everything during my stay compared to by the time i was 10 somewhere the 1998 and wat i didn't like is the crime because my wife she was robbed of a cellphone in like few second in front of us and we didn't notice anything at all.bad
This is home for me although I haven't lived in this city since 2013. From a tourist perspective, there is so much to do and see in this city and within a few hours drive of the city. The weather is fabulous pretty much all year round and miss having my year round tan. Some great restaurants to explore and with the biggest Indian population outside of India, you are guaranteed to taste the best Indian food you've ever had. Within a 2 hour drive north, you can experience fantastic game drives or local tribal experiences, or drive 2 hours inland and you can see the mountains and staying local you have some of the best beaches, diving and fishing in the world.
Entertainment is accessible on a walking distance. You can get the experience on a single stay, two or more stays are recommended though. The weather is very nice and welcoming, its never too cold or too hot. Its get hot enough for you to go to the beach or enjoy the sea from your hotel. Even on cold days, you can still enjoy going to the tourist destinations around the city and coming back to the ocean view at your place of stay.
The ocean views are breathtaking and the people are very friendly. However, beach site was very dirty and there were dead seagals on the beachfront. I don't know if this was due to the storm? The marine life and vibe was amazing. The city is clean and everything was easy to find.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed. From the artwork hanging on the walls to the flower arrangements- it was executed perfectly. Clearly they take great care in hiring staff who love what they do, are friendly, gracious and pay attention to detail. We ate at three of their restaurants and loved each one. The high tea was wonderful. The Curry Buffet is not to be missed. They even have a gin menu at the bar featuring South African gin, as well as international guns.

Great location; it is directly opposite Gateway shopping Centre. It also has the biggest rooms you will find in Umhlanga including a little kitchen with a microwave and fridge and a little lounge. I was there for the Comrades Marathon and the hotel was kind enough to start breakfast at 3am to cater for all the runners; which was very nice 👌🏾
