About Marloth Park

Marloth Park is a unique wildlife sanctuary and holiday town in South Africa. Its subtropical climate offers warm summers, with temperatures often reaching 90°F, and mild winters averaging around 60°F.

This destination is a paradise for nature lovers. You can explore the bush on foot, by bicycle, or in your own vehicle. The Kruger National Park, one of Africa's largest game reserves, is a short drive away. Marloth Park itself is home to a variety of wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, and numerous bird species.

The local culture in Marloth Park is centered around nature and wildlife conservation. The cuisine is influenced by the larger South African region, with popular dishes like Boerewors (a type of sausage) and Biltong (dried, cured meat). The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, with the Crocodile River providing stunning views and opportunities for bird watching.

We enjoy Marloth, it has been our go to place for years.

We enjoy Marloth, it has been our go to place for years. We like to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. However Marloth has become a little messy. The "bus stop/workers" section opposite Marlothi is a turn off. It looks messy and sort of townshiplike. Hopfefully Marloth can take action against the messiness of the parttime workers

What I like most of Marloth Park was the free roaming wild life in their natural habitat. They came up to your door. Buy your groceries before coming to Marloth Park. However if you forgot anything do not worry the town has a little shop where you can find everything you need. Respect for animals. Guided bushwalk with Rick a must. Various restaurants with reasonable prices with good food. Sit back relax and just watch the animals and birds. Nice stalls with homemade goodies for us city slickers. Quad bike rides really nice experience with your older children, extremely fun even for me doing it for the first time with my son. Do not worry you drive on a plot just outside Marloth park gate so wild life is not disturbed.

Some nice lodges and small game, lots of tourist driving on open bakkies and drinking in public. Average restaurants and they expensive. ThebTin Shack is probably best foe cold beers and Portegeuse food. Great chips!. Only one roqd tarred, the main roads. Others are all dust roads and are from accessible to you need a 4 x 4. Malaria area, use incect repellant at all times.

The house is located close to shops, restaurants and the water park. It is approximately 2.8 km walk down to the crocodile river but a pleasant walk. The restaurants offer good food and the prices are reasonable. Lots of different animals and birds visit the house everyday. Komati poort is a short drive if you need to go into town. The care taker Paul was very friendly and helpful he was always close when he was needed and he kept the place clean and tidy.

Lion Hill @Kruger is a well equipped house in Marloth Park with the advantage of not experiencing load shedding in its full extent. Since the lights are connected to some kind of a generator, we didn’t have to sit in the dark during load shedding, which felt great. Having a washer and dryer in the house also helped us getting everything ready again for our next stop where we wouldn’t have the option to wash our clothes, which was a big plus when traveling with kids.

The location is right on the fenceline overlooking the Crocodile River into Kruger National Park. You can sit in the pool, have a braai and sunset drinks all whilst overlooking the river. Hippos grunting, crocs basking in the sun, makde for a wonderful start or end point for a KNP holiday. Marloth Park itself is full of game which all roam freely around the properties and the restaurant has got one of the best views over thr river.

Christa and Pat, our hosts were just wonderful, kind and accomodating. They really went above and beyond giving us suggestions and updates and with the recent floods in the Kruger area they made sure we had the best travel route into Marloth park days before our arrival. The lodge is beautiful and so much bigger than we expected and well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We had a really wonderful time.

The staff were very attentive to all our needs. I was very impressed with how they took care of us which was a big bonus. The food was absolutely amazing - lamb potjie was to die for. The dinner setting is fantastic with the option to sit around the fire for a pre-or after dinner drink. The property is well positioned in Marloth park and we could do early morning walks to the fence to see Crocodile river.

The owners neighbours who were so helpful to us when we were lost and called owner to find out where his wooden shed was. Owner had sent us a text at 6am in the morning when we were in Kruger without signal. Awful start especially as my messages were based on meeting someone at the house as every other place I stayed in marloth park had done.

This prestine Argitechtural Beauty was Bliss for the soul and ideally located in Marloth Park. Quiet, away from the main road and all the park visitors like Impala, Zebra, Giraffe, Kudu, Bushbuck, bushpigs, duiker and too many bird species to count. EXCELLENT personal service from the Partners and short of nothing. Will definately return.

Bernadette the hostess bubbly, professional & full of helpful tips on how to enjoy Marloth Park. Accommodation lovely. Deck backed on to the bush & saw many animals up close. I was given daily updates on load shedding schedules which helped me plan my day. I would definitely recommended this accommodation to anyone.

I have traveled and stayed in top Hotels around the world, but this was such a top experience, world class. The staff and management went overboard to entertain and keep you happy with food, music, game drives etc. I will always go back there. I cannot thank them enough for a brilliant stay.
