Nestled at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain Range and surrounded by wineries, The Vineyard Country House features an outdoor pool, a sun terrace and patios overlooking the garden. We had an excellent stay here. Although it is located close to the R62, we didn't here the traffic. The room is very good, spacious with a beautiful patio where you look down over the garden and vineyards. Swimming pool is close by (cold water though!) and the host and personnel were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast starter is quite an experience, almost an art impression with homemade fruits etc. We did not benefit from the full breakfast they offer, since we were not that hungry. But I'm sure the full breakfast would have given us a similar experience.
Avalon Springs offers rooms with free WiFi in Montagu, ideally set a few steps from the resort. The property is close to Montagu Springs and Montagu Winery. Guests can enjoy mountain views. Super Friendly staff.great accommodation and excellent food.
Located along Route 62, Montague Springs Resort offers self-catering accommodations. It features a heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and children’s playground. The Heated pool was awesome and refreshing. The staff there was friendly and I could not ask for a better and relaxing place.
Located in Montagu in the Western Cape region and Montagu Springs reachable within 8 miles, 360on62 Farm Cottages provides accommodations with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, an outdoor swimming pool and... Brendan and his partner were so accommodating. They were quick to respond to messages and wanted to accommodate our early check in, which they did and were happy to answer any questions. The facilities on the property far exceeded any expectations and they really thought about every comfort and amenity possible. We stayed in Pale Chanting cottage; it has a hot tub, an outdoor bath, outdoor and indoor fire place, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and stunning surroundings. Everything from warm throw blankets, extra fire wood, shower gel and kitchen utensils were supplied. For the price paid, I felt we were spoilt rotten. I will 100% be returning regularly to this property for a break away from the city and even a romantic escape.
Bon Accord Farm Cottages are located about 5 mi outside of Montagu and offer picturesque views of the Baden Keisie Valley. The kitchen was very well equipped and we appreciated that we could heat the living room in the winter. There were plenty of blankets as well. The view was incredible (sunset from the porch every night). We slept really well since it was very quiet.
At the foot of the Montagu Mountains, Kogman & Keisie Guest Farm offers accommodations within a 10-minute walk of the town center. Perfect getaway place and only 2 hours drive from cape town. Perfect reception and warm welcome for guests along with restaurant recommendations. Loved the outdoor sitting area which opens to the farm.

Montagu is a small town and easy to travel around in. The staff in the various businesses are very friendly. Unfortunately the dining experience at 22 Church Street was rather disappointing We asked the waitress for her opinion as to which would be the better choice between Sirlion & Rump She recommended the Sirlion - 1/3 was full of grissley, fat and tough and we pointed this out to her. The response from the chef was that they would point that out to their meat supplier.....
absolutely tranquil and not too far from Cape Town - beautiful easy walks and comfort in a place that also had every modern amenity at Suidster - Montague itself is cute and has quaint coffee shops but we didn't even need that we were happy in our amazing lodge in the hills
Safe walking town. Nice shops to browse. Winery closes lunch time on Saturday so go early. Nice market on Saturday. Good restaurants but make sure they are open in July. Great to use as a base to visit wine estates.
A beautiful Klein Karoo town with lots of little (and not so little) immaculate gardens and beautifully maintained old houses. Warm and friendly restaurants, art gallery and stunning scenery. A trip to the dried fruit factory shop is not to be missed.
The hikes on the property were safe, well marked and ranged from easy to difficult. The views on the hikes were exceptional. The solitude, peace and quiet were just what we needed to recharge. Definitely worth a visit. We stayed in Orange Cottage, next time we will try Faraway Cottage.
The trip to Montagu over the Franschoek pass was breathtaking. We stayed at Monte Vista Hotel in Montaqu, which was exceptional, situated in the centre of town, and easily accessible to most shops. We had dinner at a nearby lodge, The Mimosa, this is highly recommended. We enjoyed day trips to the wine farms in Robertson. A trip to remember
The guest house is situated in an idyllic location on a farm as you enter Montagu, with easy access to hiking trails and the town centre. If you plan on doing a hike expect 4 friendly furry friends to join you. The staff and owners were all very friendly and hospitable. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. Joy's rusks and Paul's breakfasts were fantastic. The organic soaps and skin products provided, which are made on the farm, are excellent and made our stay even more pleasant.
A two day stopover in a self catering chalet with its own adjoining hot tub and decent views of the mountains was just right before heading back to Cape Town. Our own braai and a well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook in each evening but with two separate ensuite and a generous lounge the 4 of us still had space and privacy to enjoy the stay completely. The hot springs were warm, as the outside temperature headed up towards late 20’C, but it was a relaxing and enjoyable break.
Not our first stay at this hotel and excellent choice to stay there again. Had friends from Sri Lanka with us and they were also very impressed. Deidre made us laugh all the way - we enjoyed her in particular, but all the staff were excellent. Even the young guy at the bar offered to stay open a little bit longer for us. Deidre offered to pack us a picnic basket with glasses and a bottle of wine for our trip in the vintage car. Cas was a very good host with the car.
Montague is a beautiful historical town with great architecture. The town is well managed and a pleasure to walk through. Monte Vista is centrally situated. We were warmly welcomed by competent staff. The hotel is beautifully renovated and decorated for utmost comfort. The garden and pool is well kept and a great place to relax and cool down. It is a great place to stay. I recommend staying for more than one night as there is a lot to enjoy.
The meals were excellent. Rooms were very neat. The staff (especially Chrysma and Charles) were extremely friendly and helpful, and there are various routes to walk or cycle on the farm. It is also ideally situated for a visit to Montagu or to zip in to town to go shopping or visit a restaurant if you prefer not to eat dinner at the farm.
We loved everything about the property from from check in the hosts where very friendly , the room very neat and tidy , breakfast was lovely . We will definitely refer people there and we would stay there as well everytime we are in Montagu .
Centrally located and owner-run by the gregarious Nadja. Walking distance to restaurants and little shops. Do try and rent a bike from the Montagu Hotel and explore the nature reserve and the streets filled with old Victorian homes.
Lovely stay! Impeccably clean and more spacious than expected. Especially appreciated the coffee and light snacks for breakfast. Great location to walk to restaurants and walking paths. Will definitely stay again when in Montagu.
as a self catering cottage, it was great with an option of an outside or inside braai and a kitchen big enough to work in. rooms were nicely sized. I sadly didn't try out the hot tub this time round.
Beautiful surroundings in nature. Great facilities (braai with wood supplied, swimming pool, lapa, walking trail etc.). Warm hospitality with complimentary farm bread and cookies provided.
Everything was just perfect. You can‘t do better. If you stay in Montagu...Bon Accord Farm should be your place to stay. Elsje, the host, is amazing!!!!
Location terrific. The Hotel was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was great.
Wonderfully comfortable hotel - wish we could have stayed longer
Landscape, hot springs at montagu and the staff were friendly.
Wonderful farm atmosphere!
The room was clean and perfectly furnished and the beds were comfortable. The views were spectacular and the outdoor space was fantastic. there was a pool and a trampoline and lots of space to run around. My kids loved it. David is the perfect host. he has such great knowledge of the area and great tips for exploring. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
