Clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely room. Have laundry service. Seeing the hippos at evening time, next to the dining restaurant area was special. All tours seem to pick up from there. Lovely looking swimming pools, very inviting. Lovely and quiet at night and morning time.

Everything! The architecture is amazing, full of personality. Summarises the spirit of Africa. It’s even more beautiful than in the pictures!! The personnel is fabulous, they do their best to welcome you and make you feel at home. Room is comfy, nice bed to lay down and watch some Netflix after a full day of safari. Food is nice, good selection of wines, nice breakfast. The safari guy they recommend is also really good!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Zarafa in Hazyview for two nights, and I could have easily extended my stay for a week if time permitted. The experience was flawless, with exceptional attention to detail that truly set it apart. The villa was absolutely stunning, offering complete privacy to enjoy the pool, dine on the gazebo, and unwind in a serene setting with breathtaking views, all while being completely isolated from any noise or distractions. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a spacious his-and-her vanity, a bath stocked with an array of luxurious salts and gels, and a large, well-appointed shower. Dinner was a standout experience – a five-course meal that would satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. As a fine dining chef, I must say that every dish was executed to perfection. Barrie, the owner, went above and beyond to personally introduce himself to all the guests. He made sure everyone felt welcome and took extra care to accommodate any special requests. He even arranged an early breakfast pack and provided binoculars for our early game drive. If you have the opportunity to stay at Zarafa and choose not to, you’re truly missing out on an exceptional experience that goes far beyond just a place to stay. As an added bonus, we were lucky enough to spot the resident giraffe during our stay. Barrie shared that she sometimes drinks from the pool, although she didn’t do so while we were there.
