Beautiful Little Town , with lots of friendly stops and things to do/see. I love the small-town aspect of it, as it doesn't feel too commercial. some really special little coffee stops, with immaculate views. A friendly and well appointed town in general, with everything you need.

We hiked on our 1st full day in the Underberg, that leaves...

We hiked on our 1st full day in the Underberg, that leaves the rest of the holiday to recover :-) You need cash to pay the permit at the hiking reception site, which is through Drakensberg Gardens resort. We visited Castelburn, which is a lovely resort and the Lakeview restaurant served good food at reasonable prices. We visited Kenmo Lake, just outside Himeville which is very peaceful even in winter as you can still spot birds and enjoy a lakeside picnic. The Underberg is definitely for those who want to adventure and/or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains.

Underberg CBD is soo dirty,the roads are not taken care of,it’s like a gravel road passing town,but people are so friendly ,Sani park was my favorite,there’s no much restaurant,only KFC & Debonairs,Touring to Lesothovia Sani pass is a must go

There are several resorts and a number of smaller accommodations in this picturesque valley, a hotspot for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. It is close to the famous Sani Pass, where 4X4 enthusiasts can ascend one of the highest and most scenic trails in Southern Africa. The town has charming shops and eateries, and many of the resorts offer a host of activities, restaurants and outdoor adventure options.

Potholes are ridiculous getting to underberg.

Potholes are ridiculous getting to underberg. So many & close to each other. Definitely cause damage to your car tires / rims. Once to get to underberg, spar and other stores are convenient. Being close to the berg is beautiful

It was the most plesant surprise - Underberg and especially...

It was the most plesant surprise - Underberg and especially Himeville was the cherry on the cake. The views of the Drakensberg is spectacular. Underberg has all the shops you need to buy groceries. Himeville and the lake just outside the town and the museum is a definate "Must" We had a picknic at the lake. Also used the local tour company to go up Sani Pass - what an experience. Words cannot describe the beauty and the experience we had. In Lesotho we visited a local lady, where our guide gave us a talk on their culture and we ate a nice hot "potbrood" The Highest pub in Africa was closed, but we had a great buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Lesotho. - Highly recommend to visit this jewel hidden in the Drakensberg. We went in the beginning of May and the autom colours was beautifull in all the different coloured oak trees.

A wonderful cabin, we really enjoyed our stay here. It was supposed to be just an overnight stop but we really felt at home so stayed another night. It has everything you need. Large, really comfy bed with an electric blanket. The kitchen is simple but functional. 2 hobs, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge. Has most utensils. Really cosy TV area. It's a smart TV with Netflix and amazon TV for free already logged in. Very reasonably priced. Friendly owners. We highly recommend and will definitely stay here if we are in Underberg again.

We had a lovely time staying at Stoney. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and Keryn has made things so easy with all the notes around the cottage. There were extra bonuses like an air-fryer, a Nspresso machine, Netflix, great wifi and a lovely warm fire! It is not far from the cottage into town for any necessities but also far enough to feel the serenity of the Underberg mountains. We will definitely be back, if we get the chance.

Location is fantastic and the host is excellent. He made sure that we were comfortable and even remembered us from the year before. He even showed us his new puppy and it felt like home. A lovely place to relax, just outside of Underberg and the perfect stay before going up Sani Pass.

We stayed in the small cottage (annex). It is extremely well equipped with Airfryer, stove and microwave, cutlery, even with a cheese grater. Additional blankets and radiator to have the cottage heated in cold Underberg. sue was very helpful and responsive.
