I had a great stay at J&B lodge! Barry was a wonderful host and helped me plenty to book an activity in town. He was super friendly, warm and his little dog Emmy is the cutest! Their place has all you may need for a comfortable stay and it's very close to all the shops and some restaurants.

A beautiful town looking into the Southern Drakensberg.

A beautiful town looking into the Southern Drakensberg. Beautiful scenery. Lovely hikes. Good clean air. Brilliant for those that enjoy the outdoors. Need to have own transport. Has a Spare, Pep and Ackerman's in the town. Petrol garages available. Little eateries available and KFC. Personally I like being on the hiking trails around. Sani Pass is near so is Drakensberg Gardens. Plenty of B&B's and Cottages for accommodation.

    Very friendly people.

Very friendly people. Grind cafe has the most delicious pizzas. A drink and view from Sani highest pub, is a must. Used Major adventures, to take me up, they are so professional and informative. Other family members walked the Sani Choc walk. So much to do in close proximity to where we were staying.

When visiting the Drakensberg, my soul needs to have breathtaking views of the mountains! And Underberg has some of the best views in the Southern Drakensberg - i.e. Hodson's Peaks at Sani Pass. Silo Cottage situated on a farm with beautiful rolling fields, trees, dam and river. Lovely easy walks. From Underberg, one can easily visit Drakensberg Gardens and Sani Pass Hotels or take a tour up the Pass. Farm just a few kms outside the main village of Underberg should one wish to buy fresh bread, etc. Easy to get around the shops in Underberg village. "The Lemon Tree Coffee Shop" in Underberg serves the most delicious homemade scones and coffee! There is absolutely nothing I would avoid when next visiting Underberg.

    A real slice of paradise!!

A real slice of paradise!! There is so much to do and see and it is the perfect getaway if you just want somewhere to relax and switch off for a while! The restaurants are all amazing - the Whistling's Goats food is absolutely outstanding, a definite must when visiting the area!! The new Balam River Deck on the Drak Gardens road is a hidden gem and also a must visit for a good cup of coffee - I could spend all day on the deck overlooking the river!!

Underberg is a quaint town and honestly such a treat to visit. The main road is small and has everything you need to get buy. It is very easy to get around - just watch the high speed bumps and pot holes. We visited the Himeville Museum which was such a treat and also hit up a few stores on the main road. We checked out two local restaurants - The Grind Cafe and Lemon Tree Bistro which were both so lovely - with managers so friendly and food was delicious.

We loved everything about the Birches Cottage. It is nicely situated in Underberg. It is safe and secure and has great facilities. The cottage was absolutely clean and well kept and maintained. There is beautiful trails which lead down to the river. We enjoyed this because we went down and relaxed and it was safe. There is also nice viewing platforms with breathtaking views. The hosts ensured that we were well taken care off and ensured that it was a memorable stay. Highly recommended.

Lake Glencairn was amazing, peaceful, beautiful and quite. Definitely a place to stay at if you want to zone out from the hustle bustle of the city. Close to Sani Pass, beautiful drives and scenery, about 10 mins from Underberg town. We would definitely visit again! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartment was super clean with large rooms, comfortable beds, a great lounge area that looked out on the farm and a small pond.

We got upgraded from a B&B reservation to Self Catering Accommodation with no price changes due to availability. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect if you want to tour Sani Pass which is +/-20 minutes away. The property has a huge garden for guests to stroll and soak up the sun. We stayed in winter when nights reached below zero temperatures, but felt so comfortable due to the electric bed warmers.

A piece of paradise nestled under the mountain. Quiet and peaceful with amazing views of the Drakensberg mountains. A superb farmhouse with everything you need and more to make your stay feel like a home away from home. Cindy was available to help us with anything we needed whenever we needed it. Just fantastic. We would have stayed longer if we could have. There is nowhere else we would want to stay in the Underberg...

The location of the Drakensberg Gardens resort and particularly Fairways is absolutely fabulous, there is something for everyone; hiking, biking, golf, fishing, many kiddies fun areas, teenage places to escape and still be safe, with attentive staff all over. The unit 124 at Fairways has everything you need for a family / friend group stay. Having a washing machine and tumble drier makes longer stays very easy.

Beautiful views at sunset with large fire and complementary wood provided. The stay was comfy and perfect for cold weather with the heated blankets, indoor and outdoor fire places and well insulated. The owners Virginia and John were so lovely and went above and beyond to help with anything necessary including providing information and directions on the beautiful secret spots around Underberg.

The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, even having a hair dryer, a rarity in South Africa! The setting, with sweeping views of the mountains, is spectacular, and the location is very convenient, just a short drive from restaurants in Underberg. Barry, our host, was warm, friendly, and very helpful!
