I arrived in Muke village looking for a quiet place to stay far away from the touristic Livingstone town. I didn't expect to find there the best experience of my trip in Africa. I was the third guest since the house is new and they just started to host people in this authentic village house made with wood and clay. The bed are very comfortable, the bathroom and shower are clean and functional. It was so nice to sleep in this peaceful village near the Zambezi river that I decided to extend my stay to one week and I had many reasons to do so! This is not just a guest house, this is part of a project started 4 years ago by Alex when he decided to build a school in Muke Village. I met him when I arrived and he explained me how all the profits of the guest house go to the school, the teachers and the kids. The decision to build a school was made because the nearest school was 5 km away and the kids had to cover a busy dangerous road and sometimes even face the elephants that crowd the surroundings of the village. Starting with 10 kids now the school has 75 students and needs every year more support. I decided then to help as I could doing some volunteering and I extended my stay! So I really recommend to anyone who pass by Livingstone to spend some time in this place because for me it was the most authentic experience of my trip in Africa and I met very nice people in this place who work everyday to give a better future to the children of the village. A real adventure! The Lodge is situated far away from the city, right at the shore of the Sambesi River. Extremely quiet and peaceful at night with a million stars above. But be careful: The hippos come out of the river at night and you better stay inside of your chalet. We were instructed that this would happen and at night they accompanied us from dinner to our chalets. Super friendly staff organized a tour to the Victoria falls and through the city of Livingstone.

All was new and clean. The house had a big battery in case of power outbreak’s. We had both airtel and mtn SIM cards because we work online while we travel and the signal was good so the signal towers were close. The owner fixed the road in the second day and it has a good sign from the asphalt road. I will return with pleasure for sure.

The hotel location is to die for. It is located right on the banks of the Zambezi with views of the most astounding sunsets across the river. The property was opened less than a month after we arrived and the staff was still working out some of the bugs with getting the door keys properly programmed. But those little inconveniences of getting momentarily locked out of your room is quickly forgiven each time you step into the room. It has all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel and the suite where we stayed had double balconies overlooking the river. The breakfast buffet was varied and plenty with lots of choices. And the dining room staff was extremely attentive to your every need. Overall we had a wonderful time at the Radisson Blu and would definitely stay here again.

The girls that work there are so nice. Blessia and Josephine they really went above and beyond to make sure our stay there was comfortable. My sister and I really enjoyed our 3 day stay. It was amazing. I recommend. Everyone was so nice. And when we had no taxi to the airport the next morning, the watchman literally ran to the taxi stop to find us a taxi. Very very kind people.
