When we arrived we were welcomed by the school children who where playing at the football field and started chasing the car that Alex (our host) sent for us. Getting to know the traditional houses, that are nicely divided by 'pencil cactus' trees that also create the roads inside the village. Having the chance to try the traditional food, and even more learning how to prepare it with them. Also, to know the school, the teachers and especially the kids, mostly by getting to play football, tic-tac-toe, flying kites with the kids, and if you are really lucky they will teach you a couple of hand games. Communication with Alex was easy and he was very organized and flexible with arranging transport and activities, even with a short notice. We did the game drive, canoeing in the Zambezi river and village tour. All were great!!

If you only spoil yourself once this is the place to do it, location on the banks of the Zambezi, great friendly staff, the evening river cruise was really special watching the romantic sunset on the river to the sound of snorting hippos is an experience you won't forget. The staff are great and it's obvious making your stay enjoyable is there main goal. Did I mention the chalet, it really has to be experienced to be believed - fantastic!!

All was new and clean. The house had a big battery in case of power outbreak’s. We had both airtel and mtn SIM cards because we work online while we travel and the signal was good so the signal towers were close. The owner fixed the road in the second day and it has a good sign from the asphalt road. I will return with pleasure for sure.

The girls that work there are so nice. Blessia and Josephine they really went above and beyond to make sure our stay there was comfortable. My sister and I really enjoyed our 3 day stay. It was amazing. I recommend. Everyone was so nice. And when we had no taxi to the airport the next morning, the watchman literally ran to the taxi stop to find us a taxi. Very very kind people.

Kamunjila is not only a lodge to stay, it is an experience. Highly recommended, if 10 is maximum, this one is 10+. The premises are beautiful if you look for something authentic. Kamunjila staff is professional, welcoming, understandable, and always ready to help. The lodge is a great example of sustainability, proximity, and awareness. You need to go to understand. If you like to taste local meal, go for the fish from the Zambezi river, try nshima or taste mango picked up for you straight from the tree. Enjoy the garden and hear the stories about plants and animals from the local expert, great guide! Get impressed by the talented artist painting in the garden. My stay was wonderful.
