Very nice and friendly owners. Both speak English. They helped us with the ticket to the Great Wall of China. The room was nice, clean, but the whole house is nicely decorated. We felt like we were visiting family. The dinner the owner prepared for us was the best we had during our trip to China.

We are two introverts from Australia, so we don't usually gravitate towards homestay or BnB style accommodation, however pickings are slim here in Mutianyu! So we selected this homestay and were so pleasantly surprised by our experience. Staff (this is a family run business) are kind and professional, offering friendly service that isn't overbearing. We were picked up from and dropped back to the Beijing Train Station in a clean and comfortable car for a very reasonable price (it's 90 minutes each way, not a short trip). The accommodation is already inside the scenic area so you can very much avoid the whole shuttle bus situation, and we were dropped off right to the base of the climb! We recommend trying to go in the afternoon, it was super quiet as we'd missed the tour busses and the crowds who mostly arrive in the morning. Most of our pictures have no other human beings in them! We had a delicious vegan dinner and breakfast provided with no fuss and lots of flavour. When paying for our room we also paid for our Wall tickets and add-ons which were purchased and organised on our behalf. Bonus adorable kittens and cats roaming outside the property 😍 The room had a beautiful view of the mountain and even a tiny peak of the wall. Bed was comfortable and the room was warm and clean. Plenty of water and snacks provided too. Very simple room with just the bed, one bedside table, a small seat with table, and a small bathroom, but that's all we needed.

Located in Simataicun and only 31 km from Great Wall of China - Simatai, Simatai Great Wall Dexin Folk Restaurant provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The room and bathroom were really clean. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We planned a hike on the Great Wall, and they drove us there, helped with the tickets and picked us up afterwards (made a good price). We had an overall good experience!

Micky and her family were superb hosts. They house is beautifully decorated with really comfortable rooms. Breakfast was the best we had during our stay in China. We were so lucky to have found such a beautiful home stay and such excellent hospitality.

Situated within 26 km of Great Wall of China - Huanghuacheng and 43 km of Ming Tombs, Yue Tong Farmer House features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Huairou. Loved our stay there. The location was excellent. The village peaceful, charming and clean. The people really nice. The hosts took us to the ticket office of Great wall and came to pick us up- we also arranged with them the transportation to airport going back. They were really adorable and sweet. Highly recommended - as mentioned in the other posts, language was not a real issue. We all managed to communicate and had an incredible stay. We loved the open space concept of the place. Made you feel as part of the family.
