We were extremely well received by the manager "Dady Cool" and his team. Everyone is kind, friendly and caring!!! They are available at any time of day to help you with anything! We also went for a jungle trekking that was just amazing ! I totally recommend booking activities with them ! For the villa, you'll find everything you need in your room (and if something missing, they will do their best to help) On top of that, the breakfast and the whole dining menu are really delicious. Don't hesitate to eat there, you won't regret it Thanks again to all the team for the amazing moments we spent there !

My family and I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful, newly built villa as the first guests. The house is very bright, lovely decorated and very spacious. It's situated directly on the stunning white sand beach with a wonderful view of the turquoise ocean and nearby little islands. It has two bedrooms, well well-equipped kitchen and large living areas. We were warmly welcomed by a manager at the harbour. All the transportation, boat trips to the islands and the car rental were also easily arranged for us by the owner. The villa is situated in the heart of the main village, so you have easy access to the shops and local warnings. You can watch the fishermen in the morning and easily blend with the local people who are always incredibly friendly.

We wanted somewhere different to spend Christmas and came across Valhalla house online, the house was as amazing as it looks in the pictures and was right on the beach that you have to yourself! The house was clean & comfortable and had everything we needed - water, towels, cooking facilities etc! As the island was quite remote we were struggling to find how to get there and get around but Marcelo, the host, went above and beyond to help us out with flights and ferries. His communication was great, and he gave us some great food recommendations as well as a contact for surf lessons, which we all really enjoyed on Christmas day, and was just so helpful with all of the questions we had! Marcelo also put us in touch with a local, Dolman, who drove us to and from the airport, even though the roads were bad he made it so easy for us to get around by providing bikes at a really good price. Overall we had an amazing stay at Valhalla and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time on a paradise island, surrounded by local culture, beautiful beaches and lots surfing!!

Right by the lake, you can just walk down and take a swim. Even at night it's really beautiful. There are many restaurants within walking distance as well. The house itself was comfortable. The host Ranti was great as well! She's really funny and helpful. She helped us to book motorbikes and a day tour, both which turned out amazing. It's really convenient to get a ferry back to mainland as well. The ferry can stop right at the house to drop you off/pick you up.

Getting to this wonderful place is an adventure in itself. 15’ on a motor and a 20-30’ hike, but that will bring you to a home that settles itself in your heart (Don’t worry porters will be arranged for luggage and you will be guided – Connect on WhatsApp!). The family run hotel was constructed making use of the rocks from the river that curves around it and the wood from the jungle that surrounds it. You feel lost in nature. It has three upstairs rooms ideal for a family and a room downstairs. You’re family. The aunties cook local dishes (surprise menu – delicious banana-tree soup) and harvest from the garden. We planted a tree from the nursery. Cikita is a friendly host to help you. Baik is a senior guide with excellent English to help arrange trekking. The cook also gives a very professional massage. What can we say? Wifi and electricity may be spotty and there is no hamburger. But this place is so unique! Remote, so if you don’t want that, this is not for you. But if you look for a place to remember disconnected from everything. This is it.

Magpie homestay & jungle trekking especially for guest trekking with us si trova a Bukit Lawang e propone il WiFi gratuito, un giardino con terrazza e la vista sul giardino. Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno meraviglioso da Asniar, la proprietaria di Magpie Homestay. Abbiamo alloggiato in un delizioso bungalow, molto spazioso, pulito e con letti comodi. Il giardino è molto bello e tutto è ben curato. Asniar è stata gentilissima e rispettosa della nostra privacy. Ha organizzato per noi il trekking nella giungla di 2 giorni e 1 notte. Ci hanno accompagnato Kitan, super sorridente, sempre presente e guida perfetta, e Nasir, la dolcezza fatta persona, che ha davvero aiutato tanto mia figlia di 11 anni nei passaggi più difficili del trekking con garbo e gentilezza. Abbiamo visto oranghi a distanza ravvicinata, gibboni, Thomas Monkey e macachi. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo e tantissimo 🤪 il bagno nel fiume e il rientro sui gommoni a Bukit Lawang rimarranno nei nostri ricordi ❤️ Sempre con Kitan siamo stati alla Bat Cave, Landak River e a Batu katak a vedere la fioritura dell'Amorphophallus titanum. Tutte esperienze stupende. Avere Kitan con noi è stato un piacere, sia perché è simpatico, sia perché ci ha dato sicurezza (sono sola e viaggio con 2 adolescenti di 11 e 14 anni). Magpie homestay non è nel centro del villaggio e a noi è piaciuto proprio tanto. È più vera e meno turistica. Asniar cucina benissimo! E i prezzi sia del soggiorno che di tutte le escursioni organizzate con loro sono ottimi! Grazie a tutta la crew di Magpie Homestay!!
