An absolutely beautiful setting and so easy to head out to explore the area. It’s so easy to find. The house was fully equipped with all utensils to ensure self- catering was painless. The added bonus of a cupboard and shelf filled with oils and spices made life even easier. The beds were comfy. The rooms spacious. The shower hot. I cannot recommended Sodulsholt enough!

The location of the cabin is secluded and allows to easily see the northern lights. The view around is amazing - it is difficult to describe in words its intensity in the middle of winter. We watched it and the glow from the cozy dining area and it was spectacular. Very short driving distance from the photogenic mountain Kirkjufellsa. The beds are very comfortable, the wood paneling on the walls makes you feel good. The access road is in good condition, there is an adjacent parking lot. The owner lives nearby and is available for any questions or requests. We couldn't ask for more. For us, the place is very special and was perfect.

No restaurants in immediate area, so either dine as you drive through Borgarnes or some place closer to the park. Beautiful views.

Two bathrooms Free parking Beds for 9 pers Great view ligger i Grundarfjörður. Boendet har privat parkering på plats och gratis WiFi. GREAT place for the value. Four of us stayed two days. Three bedrooms, which was really nice after staying in some VERY small cramped hotel rooms. Was towards the end of the trip, so it allowed us to decompress after driving around the entire country. Important to note: Hit a very convenient grocery store early in the day. We tried to go after dinner, and it closed at 6 pm. Would absolutely recommend this place if you're going to the West Fjords (Grundarfjorour area). Also, it's not a bad drive for timing to see sites in this pensula from this location.
