Nestled in the medieval village of Santillana del Mar, this hotel has plenty of rustic charm and picturesque views over the surrounding garden and countryside. Location, was not in the center of the noice. Very quiet and yet super close to the center.

It would have been difficult to have been treated better and almost impossible to find a more relaxing location with breathtaking views. The hosts were perfect; available on the phone at any time and quick to respond to any messages. The accommodation was ideal for our needs and indeed we have taken away a good few ideas for a property we are renovating (thank you Meli). We stayed for four nights and wish it had been longer; the area is one of truly astounding natural beauty and is the perfect location to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. The village itself is very pretty and the locals equally welcoming and happy to chat. One can walk from the property to local restaurants which provide wholesome economical food and a warm welcome. We have lived in a very beautiful part of the Mediterranean Coast of Spain for over 20 years in one of the most scenic valleys imaginable, or at least we thought so until we came to sample the delights of this gorgeous village in the Cantabrian mountains with fields of freely roaming livestock all around and the backdrop of awe inspiring mountains with free flowing rivers and streams with pretty cascading falls all within pretty easy walking distance, albeit up and down hill. Parking was super simple in a private spot right beside the property, but not such that your car blocks the view. We visited the coast whilst we were there which is around 40 minutes by car through sensibly wide mountain roads (windy, but easy to drive) and also took a trip to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim (just over an hour), but it was lovely to pop to the local "supermarket" (corner shop) and buy some bits to enjoy a picnic.

Situated in Quintana de Soba, 60 km from Santander, Camino de la Torre - Ruralsoba boasts a barbecue and views of the mountain. Collados del Asón Natural Park is located 2.5 km away from the property.... Nice location with own parking and entrance. Very friendly and helpful owner.

LA CABAÑA offers accommodation in Cillorigo de Liebana, 31 km from Llanes. Guests benefit from a private garden with barbecue facilities. Free WiFi is available. It's a comfortable apartment - not huge, but cosy. Ojedo is small, but there's a nice place just down the hill - for a drink and/or something to eat. We had a nice time staying here for 4 days. The owner us right up the street - in case you need anything.

Posada El Hidalgo is located in Valdecilla, just outside the Cabárceno Nature Reserve. This country house has a charming porch overlooking the garden and countryside. everything.position is very quiet. we had two balconies, great views, easy parking, beautiful bed and room, downstairs in cafe was very friendly lady, covered terrase for rainy days, check-out until 12

Set in the Cantabrian countryside, next to Cabarceno Wildlife Park, Posada Venero is a restored 19th- century house. It offers stylish bedrooms and a small spa with a sauna and hot tub. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast is amazing! Great location if you are going to go to the wildlife park!
