The room is very well appointed, the bed is comfy, and the air conditioning works! We did not include breakfast in our stay so I can’t comment on that. Everything is very clean and neat! There is a narrow staircase to negotiate, but we had no trouble. Franky is a wonderful host, who was available to help with restaurant suggestions and sightseeing options. Ieper is a beautiful city that is well worth a visit!

Set in the heart of historical Ypres, 350 metres from the In Flanders Fields Museum and a 9-minute walk from the famous Menin Gate, the self-catering Huis Vandermersch offers an elegantly designed apartment with free access to wireless internet and parking facilities. Everything was excellent. The owner gave clear instructions about the keys and the parking before arrival (there is a parking permit available for 2hr use for street parking outside the house), and also left a bottle of wine and some Belgian chocolates for us. The apartment was beautiful and bright, huge, peaceful and spotless. We loved falling asleep with the huge windows open onto the private garden and the fresh air. The bathroom is modern but still fits into the character property really well. The location is perfect as it's just a short walk to the main square and Menin Gate. I wish we could have stayed longer as we were very happy at the house.

Free WiFi access is also available throughout the entire accommodation. This hotel was really a surprise. We booked late in the afternoon on the way from one place to another. It was so comfortable! It was immaculately clean and there is a nice restaurant attached as well as a cute gift shop. The items in the gift shop were unexpected and very reasonably priced. I bought a few Christmas gifts here. I would highly recommend this hotel I also want to mention the front desk clerk was as nice and friendly as she could be. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Wonderful warm welcome from our lovely hosts. Great location, easy for walking everywhere in the town of Ieper. Breakfast was exceptionally good and generous. Very comfortable bed, and our room was large, well appointed and clean.
