We were quite lucky that we had a room at 16th floor and the window was facing the Universal Studios, so the view in our room was fantastic! It was quite a fun for my daughter to watch the staff searching for visitors who did not leave after 21:30 from within our room. There are many restaurants and convenient stores on the Citywalk, which means you can buy anything you want at any time in a day with reasonable price. The room was the largest one in all the 6 hotels we've stayed in our whole trip. It was rather like a hotel room in North America than that in Japan. There is no better place than this hotel if you'd like to have a comfortable stay and focus all yourself on enjoying the Universal Studios Japan.

Piece Hostel Sanjo offers private and dormitory rooms in the heart of Kyoto. The property is very well maintained, just a bit far from the station but that can be overlooked considering other good aspects of the hostel. The property was clean, the staff were kind, helpful and frinedly. The common area is pretty good to hangout, their common kitchen is fully equipped. I'd highly recommend it.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Staff is super kind, room was quite large (I am a single traveller and got a double room). Position is good to walk to Pontocho and Gion (30 mins more or less) and there are lots of restaurants nearby. Checkout is at 12pm, very good! If I will return to Kyoto I will choose this hotel again.

Directly accessible within Kansai International Airport, Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport - 3 mins walk to the airport features comfortable rooms with free WiFi. The location is excellent for early flights – just a few minutes’ walk to Kansai Airport. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and the hotel is well connected to the terminal. Staff were professional and check-in was smooth, which made everything stress-free before departure.
