Christian and Kay have made a little slice of magic in Ghent with their B&B. From the "reception" in the common room of their apartment in the building, their warmth and welcoming words, the sedate elevator that took us to the 3rd floor, the smell of old wood, fresh river air and books, it immediately relaxed us after a long drive from the Hague. The 3rd floor apartment we took was something else as well - the view at the castle in front, the balcony that looks over the river and the church steeples in the back, chairs, sofas and beds you can immediately fall asleep in, all impecably clean...
Kay told us that it is rare we can get a single night available on such short notice, but I am glad we did. Would recommend it to everyone, no matter how many times you visited Ghent!

The location was super! In the very edge of the old district(6 minutes by foot to the Christmas market), in a very quiet area. The house itself is a historical house renovated, but while keeping a very nice charm. Annik and Kristof were very welcoming and ensured our stay was great. I especially liked the saloon at the 1st floor where you could relax and wind down after a busy day

The room is impeccable- well lit for starters (so many hotel rooms are poorly lit). It feels really spacious thanks to the large windows and the expansive bathroom. The bed has a great mattress and the blanket is properly thick for winter- there’s both central heating and an air conditioner (we are staying in December- freezing temperatures). It is right next to the most beautiful monuments of Ghent as well as the lively and colorful Christmas market - which can easily be compared favorably to the more popular Bruges and Brussels markets. The hotel is above a bakery and that’s where they serve breakfast.
