I couldn't get the keys to the room, reception closed, noone answering the phone. had to wait nearly 2hrs before booking.com cancelled the reservation.

This hotel is between Essen and Gelsenkirchen, a 10-minute walk from Altenessen Station. It offers rooms, apartments, free parking and good motorway access.

The check-in was smooth, the apartment was impeccably clean and appears to have been recently renovated. I stayed in February and it was warm and comfortable inside. There was instant coffee, tea, and even some candies available, which was a nice touch after travelling.

I was very disappointed with this property and would not recommend it for a stay. The overall cleanliness was poor, and the place felt neglected and messy. It seemed more like staying in an untidy apartment than a properly maintained accommodation. The condition of the property did not meet my expectations and made the stay uncomfortable.
