I don't understand Cavallari's relatively low booking.com rating (7.6). If you enjoy conventional hotels (I don't, but that's not relevant if I choose to stay in one), there is nothing not to like here. Friendly, English speaking staff; nice rooms with a/c, refrigerator and small balcony; and well maintained premises. After 1 May there is a large, outdoor swimming pool. Covered private parking is supplied. Price was very reasonable, 32€ for two in early April including breakfast -- a pleasant surprise which was not prominently mentioned in the listing when I booked. The buffet breakfast is very good. The only items missing from my point of view were bananas and hot cereal. It's in an outlying neighborhood and there are only a few nearby tabernas (restaurants) -- and surprisingly expensive ones at that. Public transit to downtown Athens takes 75-90 minutes via a bus and Metro, but the fare is cheap, 1.20€ per trip. A 5-day transit pass is only 8.70€, which saves money after 7 rides.

Clean and all the staff were so friendly and nice. They made sure we were comfortable and helped us get to places we wanted to go as it was our first time visiting Greece. Thank you to all the reception staff, you guys were all so nice.
