The best homestay in the area, all renewed, clean, and very important, the restroom is completely new, very good quality price, and the guy from reception is very helpful and nice. The best experience if you want to visit Ijen volcano, they have masks and lights for customers and helps with the medical certificate needed for visit the volcano. THANKS THANKS THANKS

Amazing accommodation with beautiful rooms. Nice location. Helpful staff who arranged everything we needed, including contacting the people who arranged the trip to Ijen. We needed to leave early in the morning and an earlier breakfast was not a problem.

Beautiful guest house in the middle of the jungle with beautiful bungalows and surrounding lands. We loved the hospitality of our hosts Ericka and Marc and all their staff. The food cooked by Rico was amazing. We ate there every night. In the surrounding area, we also enjoyed the walk through the villages and rice fields. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and amazing stay.

Our stay at El Bamboo was great. We stayed for a week at the start of July and it is one of our favourite memories of our 2 months of traveling Indonesia. The owner and his wife are very lovely people, they are great hosts and the wife is such a good chef, every day the food was so delicious. The owner was very helpful and kind, helping us organise our trip to Ijen as well as De Djawatan Forest and Pantai Pulau Merah. The bamboo houses are basic in terms of facilities, but are comfortable and allow you to unwind and connect with nature. The owner build the whole place himself which is very impressive and adds to the uniqueness of the stay. We rented a scooter (also through the owner) and explored the area which is very beautiful with many rice fields and small hamlets and villages to explore. Our visits to Jagir Waterfall and the 1911 coffee plantation / cafe (also on recommendation of the owner) were really fun. We also visited the local spring which is just a couple minutes walk from the guest house. A lot of people only stay around in this area for a couple days to climb Ijen, but I would highly recommend adding a couple extra days to your trip and explore the area and enjoy the stay at El Bamboo. Hadi can help you with everything. From restaurant to Ijien hike to pharmacy. There is a beautiful garden with good WiFi. Breakfast is simple with local fried rice, omelet and fresh fruit. Really nice. Rooms are basic with good beds and large bathroom with good flow of hot water.

We very much enjoyed our stay! It was exactly what we were hoping for; somewhere remote, relaxing, surrounded by nature & locals, and close to mount Ijen for a hike. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had the best experience possible, they made breakfast for us extra early, organised all our transport, and were always happy to give us some tips :)

One of our favourite places we have stayed while we have been traveling due to the amazing hospitality. We were offered food, clothes washing, transport, earplugs it was perfect. The tour was amazing too and I would highly recommend doing this through them as you can go at your own pace while having some lovely conversations!

Words can not express just how beautiful the bungalows, the view and the location is. It is a slice of heaven as you look out on banana trees, coffee, avocado and listen to the soundtrack of nature. It’s absolutely stunning. The hosts are exceptional and the views of the mountains are beautiful. We had a fantastic time here with a delicious home cooked supper in the local village and a memorable trip to a nearby school. So much beauty. We will return! And a tasty breakfast!

Air con is cold enough for Indonesia standards,dipping pools is nice too water is from the mountains. Owner very nice bring us fresh fruit every day from the garden, Breakfast is simple but good enough.
