With its waterfront location, this hotel offers views of the old De Bilt fortress. Use of the spa facilities, fitness area and swimming pool is free of charge. I was glad to go back to this hotel with my husband. Unfortunately, I didn't find a “Romantic suite” room on Booking, which I booked 5 years ago for our anniversary. But nevertheless, we liked the room I chose in advance. A huge advantage is that the room has a bathroom and it fills up very quickly. We were happy with the SPA, but the additional costs for bathrobes, slippers and jacuzzi were not indicated in advance, at least I didn't find information about it. A delicious restaurant! A quite large selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Despite of some small disadvantages, we had a great time in Mitland hotel! My 9th month of pregnancy is coming to an end, so I was glad to take a break from all the rush and also my husband was joyfull by given a surprise, since he didn't know that we were going to Mitland hotel. Next time the three of us will come ❤️

The location was about 25 minutes walk from Utrecht Central. But along the way to this hotel, there is plenty of lively food and pub options. Halfway through the distance to this hotel, it quietens down considerably. But still there is a large Jumbo and Albert Heijn which are both large supermarkets where you can any grocery. The hotel itself is cosy and lovely. I got a twin room and it was large, super clean and everything worked and was suffient for my 2 night stay. My family and I loved this place. The heating working great too and there was a window which you could open for fresh air. It also overlooked a small garden and you can see part of a small canal running through the back of the hotel. Clear instructions related to our stay was printed out onto a piece of paper and handed to us together with our room key.

The food was really good at the location. It was a short walk to the downtown sector. And a nice park located out back that was nice to enjoy during the hot day. They also serve cold treats which was also really enjoyable and you can a cold beverage out front on one of their tables.

The host was reachable, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Living room: The apartment's partially below street level. It felt private enough but you can also just close the curtains and still have light come in. Comfortable seats, working table, enough sockets; it was cosy yet spacious. The heating works well. Kitchenette: A generous offering of breakfast items was provided, which is also covered in other people's reviews! Kitchen is functional with small luxuries, storage room and little extras like things to pack your lunch with. Enough cups/plates/glasses, cutlery. Bedroom: Comfortable and warm bed, but like someone else mentioned it's two separate matrasses. A gap filler could make the place even more attractive to travelling couples. Bathroom: I was worried when I saw photos of it not having a door, but it's not a problem for couples. It's also warm with extra heater and not too drafty. We stayed here on a very cold weekend (below zero) and it was fine. Neighbourhood: Just around the corner of a good shopping street with plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants. You can walk to the central station in 20+ minutes, but the route isn't easy to remember. The bus connection is great, though! Quiet: It's surprisingly quiet! You'll hear people walk/cycle past because the window is literally next to the street, but foot traffic stops fairly early. The host lives upstairs with a wooden floor so you'll hear some footsteps but they're very mindful. The fridge is close to the bed but not too loud. We had no trouble sleeping.

We had such a memorable stay at Johanna's place! She was an exceptional host, full of stories about her exciting life and travels, and she thinks of everything as far as special touches and amenities. The breakfast is the best you can ask for! Johanna was very understanding of our delayed arrival time, be sure to communicate with her day before or day of to be helpful! She also helped us with easy parking, and made our visit to Utrecht during Koningsdag feel like we were experiencing it with a local!~
