Part of the castle wall is kept on the second floor which was pretty cool to see.

The location of Quinta Ventozelo is truly outstanding. We loved our room ( 20) a superior double with private terrace and therefore the most wonderful view of the river below. Having been on a full on sightseeing trip , Ventozelo was perfect for a couple of days of chill time in beautiful suffoundings. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful wanting to ensure our stay was just perfect. Our meals accompanied with the vineyard’s wines were wonderful.

Great space to chill and relax: pool, bar area, restaurant with great local food and wine. Super friendly staff. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, we have been travelling in Portugal for a bit and this was by far the best we had. There were lots of healthy options, including vegetables (which we really appreciate), but of course the typical pancakes, breads and such were available too.

The Casaldronho Wine Hotel is a luxurious 4 star hotel located in the heart of the Douro Wine Region. The property was modern and the scenery was absolutely beautiful! The room was clean and with a great view. It was a really peaceful stay, with attentive staff. We ate dinner at their restarant which served hugh quality food. Their breakfast was also great. A big plus that we were surprised about, was that they had a cable for charging e-cars at the parking!

Miracorgo is situated in Vila Real’s historic centre and offers a panoramic restaurant with views of the Corgo River. Breakfast offered was both full English and continental style buffet and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good but we decided to eat at a local Portugese restaurant. The staff were hospitable and very helpful. The view over teh canyon behind the hotel was spectacular. Parking was secure.
