You can see giraffes and zebras from your tent, which is incredible. Best of all has to be the staff - Nelson and the team are always ready to help and very friendly. The food by Chef Nelson is excellent and they’re very flexible to dietary restrictions. All in all, I was very glad I chose this place compared to other expensive lodges.

This spacious tent features panoramic views of the Talek River and the park. It has a private bathroom and includes four poster beds with mosquito nets and a seating area. Absolutely Fantastic! We moved to Fig Tree Camp after staying in another hotel and it wasn't a pleasing experience for me there. I asked my agency to move to Fig Tree because of the good reviews on Booking, but what I figured out after staying here is that it deserves an even better review rate! :) The location is phenomenal! It's an experience not just staying, they gave me an amazing lodge overlooking the river where you can see hippos, and crocodiles and hear those beautiful creatures all through the night! The lodge was super clean. The staff and manager were amazing and very helpful. He upgraded my room for free. I regretted that I didn't book this amazing place for the whole trip! If I repeat this trip soon, I would allocate at least two days for just staying in my lodge relaxing on the river, enjoying the amazing ambiance, seeing hippos playing, and just hearing the sounds of nature. What you will see here is no less than any experience during the safari trips, and it's a great place for relaxation! It deserves each penny! Regarding Safari drives, I booked with an agency from Nairobi so I haven't tried safari trips with them. It might also be helpful to mention that the "picnic lunch" they provide for Safari trips in Masai Mara as per the guests' request was the best meal I had for a picnic lunch compared to other hotels. Sitting on a shady raised platform facing the Talek river, each luxury tent covers approximately 26sqm and is fitted with a queen size bed or 2 twin beds. Amazing location, hospitality, food, game drives, & arrangements. We had our best time on vacation. Will definately be back once more. Thank you Mara Intrepids for making our time so special. Loved every moment of our stay.

Super location with tents spaced out between private winding paths on a hill with a view. Dining area with fireplace and washroom. Tents with washroom also. Great dinner was an added bonus. This was super for a group of work colleagues visiting the park.

The fireplace is a top feature of this tent. The well-equipped kitchenette has a stovetop, a refrigerator and kitchenware. This camp is highly recommended. The staff are very enthusiastic, and the meals are excellent. The hot water supply and internet connection are both great. We stayed for four days, and each night's dinner was different. Outside the tents, there are unobstructed trees and lawns. Various animals come out at night, but it is absolutely safe because the hotel staff patrol the area.

Small (3 tents, one of which is a large family tent), intimate, charming camp, unfenced, ideally located, in the north conservancy, just 5 minutes from the Maasai Mara’s Musiara gate entrance, 15 minutes from the air strip. Completely local ownership and management, which we highly value and one of the reasons we chose this, together with the location and the small size. We had tent 3, high on stilts, large, private, wooden floors, huge netted windows, outside deck all around, unobstructed views on the savannah. Big comfortable bed with good mattress, en-suite bathroom with toilet and huge shower, running water. Electricity and hot water are solar - electricity is around the clock, so maybe the camp tops it up at night with a generator, but we never heard one. Large, charming traditional mess tent, with bar area, and extra lounge, wonderful outdoor deck with fire pit, small plunge pool with deck chairs. Food was excellent, they will apparently cater to dietary needs but have a fixed menu. Most meals in the mess tent, some scenically set in the bush. All drinks were included as was daily laundry. Highly knowledgeable and dedicated guides (William the owner, and Alex), game drives were mostly inside the park and arranged as and when we wished, with picnic breakfast and/or lunch, or not, as we wished. Park fees were included which made the offer we got superb value for money. We had been on safari several times almost 4 decades ago when luxury safaris were mobile or semi-permanent tented camps, small, unfenced, only with simple drop toilets and hot bucket showers, communication only via radio, bush cooking, communal mess tent and fire pit… but with an abundance of local staff delivering perfect, exclusive service. That’s the feeling we were looking for again and this is the closest we found on our trip to Kenya: very similar traditional, exclusive safari feeling , experience and charm, with great service, modern comforts, but no excesses and low imprint.
