Excellent price to quality ratio and very well located near the gate while remaining super private. The tents and shared toilets are amazingly clean, which is rare for a budget rented camp. You can see giraffes and zebras from your tent, which is incredible. Best of all has to be the staff - Nelson and the team are always ready to help and very friendly. The food by Chef Nelson is excellent and they’re very flexible to dietary restrictions. All in all, I was very glad I chose this place compared to other expensive lodges.

This tent has a seating area, a balcony, garden views and a shared bathroom. The unit has 2 beds. Where to begin…..we had the best stay at Greenwood Safari Camp. The staff are all so lovely, attentive and friendly. Magdy, the owner, is helpful, understanding and informative. He helped with our numerous requests, with no complaints, considering how unorganized we were. He looked after me and my partner and we shared lots of laughs and interesting conversations during our stay. Peninah looked after us around the camp, serving us breakfast, lunch and dinner and telling us interesting stories about Masai culture and history. She was incredibly friendly and made sure we were comfortable at all times. Our driver and guide, Jonathan, was fantastic. He made sure we saw lots of animals, including the Big 5, and took us on the adventure of a lifetime. Overall I had an amazing time at Greenwood. At an affordable price, the camp is clean, conveniently placed and comfortable. Considering the average price in/around the Mara this is one of the best deals available and I’m confident you won’t regret staying at Greenwood.

The owner arranged a safari game drive over 2 days for us and we saw 4 of the Big 5. Driver/guide was experienced and good. All in all a great safari experience. The best national park accoms we've been to in Kenya.

Dining area with fireplace and washroom. Tents with washroom also. Great dinner was an added bonus. This was super for a group of work colleagues visiting the park.

The fireplace is a top feature of this tent. The well-equipped kitchenette has a stovetop, a refrigerator and kitchenware. The property was great, clean, the employees and manager were amazing. They offer the best game drives possible.

Completely local ownership and management, which we highly value and one of the reasons we chose this, together with the location and the small size. We had tent 3, high on stilts, large, private, wooden floors, huge netted windows, outside deck all around, unobstructed views on the savannah. Big comfortable bed with good mattress, en-suite bathroom with toilet and huge shower, running water. Electricity and hot water are solar - electricity is around the clock, so maybe the camp tops it up at night with a generator, but we never heard one. Large, charming traditional mess tent, with bar area, and extra lounge, wonderful outdoor deck with fire pit, small plunge pool with deck chairs. Food was excellent, they will apparently cater to dietary needs but have a fixed menu. Most meals in the mess tent, some scenically set in the bush. All drinks were included as was daily laundry. Highly knowledgeable and dedicated guides (William the owner, and Alex), game drives were mostly inside the park and arranged as and when we wished, with picnic breakfast and/or lunch, or not, as we wished. Park fees were included which made the offer we got superb value for money. We had been on safari several times almost 4 decades ago when luxury safaris were mobile or semi-permanent tented camps, small, unfenced, only with simple drop toilets and hot bucket showers, communication only via radio, bush cooking, communal mess tent and fire pit… but with an abundance of local staff delivering perfect, exclusive service. That’s the feeling we were looking for again and this is the closest we found on our trip to Kenya: very similar traditional, exclusive safari feeling , experience and charm, with great service, modern comforts, but no excesses and low imprint.
