400 metres from Otaru Station, Guest House 来夢 is a recently renovated property situated in Otaru and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Excellent breakfast, location & hosts. Funa & Kimi were the best hosts I could have had.

Located within 1.6 km of Otaru Station and 16 km of Otarushi Zenibako City Center, sakurayuki provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Otaru. Close to Minami Otaru station and the attractions such as music box museum, location was very convenient. The room was clean and really spacious. My mom is really picky with hotel/lodging selection, but she was very satisfied with Sakurayuki. And surprisingly affordable.

Located in Date in the Hokkaido region, Guest House Yamada provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. The hosts are wonderful, so friendly, helpful and polite. As other reviewers stated the guest house Yamada was a unique and memorable experience for our Japan trip. We experienced exceptional Japanese hospitality. The local onsen was fun experience too.

Very nice living for a good price, friendly owner willing to help us, fully equipped apartment with a kitchen, utensils and such, nice common rooms with pretty much anything a tourist might need

Set in Biratori, Guesthouse Nibutani Yanto offers a garden. This 2-star hostel offers a shared kitchen, a shared lounge and free WiFi. All guest rooms in the hostel are fitted with a CD player. Honestly everything. It was one of the best guesthouses where I stayed at in Japan. You can expect cleanliness, confort, spaciousness, and they have a kitchen with full amenities. The guesthouse also has a washing machine (free use and free detergent), but plan for the fact there is no dryer. There is ample space to air dry your clothes either outside or in the dorms with hangers and clips. To note, there is a bookshelve with a wide variety of books. I didn't end up reading for lack of time, but not for lack of interest. There is a high likelyhood of me going back if an opportunity presents itself. It is situated in one of the last Ainu villages. While Ainu folks obviously live a modern livestyle. You can enjoy the museums and visit the shops selling the Ainu craftsmen work. I suggest looking in advance for events happening in the village. Otherwise, a good day is largely enough to do and see everything in the village. Multiple times a day, a workshop on Ainu woodworking is given for free in the modern building (shop) at the end of the kotan. I highly recommand going for it to complete your experience in the village. It was a rewarding 1 hour workshop. I am grateful for it. I highly suggest going for a walk at the Makaushi waterfall (マカウシの滝). On your way there you will find a golf course (with rental clubs), a tennis court (with rental rackets) and a playground (if my memory serves right). After which, you can make your way to the trail in the forest which will lead you to two scenic spots: the river and the waterfall. I was able to see deers at the river. All and all, it is a very short walk.

Featuring mountain views, KEI provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 16 km from Lake Toya. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The host was very kind and attentive, I enjoyed the conversations, the recommendations and the welcome we experienced during our stay. Thank you so much, I hope to come back one day. The room and bathroom are very spacious and clean. The view on the lake is most lovely.

Offering quiet street views, BEACH AND FIELD INN is an accommodation set in Sapporo, 3.8 km from Sapporo Station and 10 km from Shin-Sapporo Station. The most comfortable and clean hostel I have ever been!!! I was at the beginning a bit worried about the location, but it is well located not far away from main attractions. Great place and great service.

I had a really good balance between socializing with the other guests and being alone, as you have both spaces for that. Yoshie, the owner of the guesthouse is amazing! Really funny, friendly, informative and just so nice, she also made toast with jam and other stuff with coffee and tea free of charge everyday! The place is really clean and has a homey vibe. Totally recommend!!
