Paula is an exceptional and attentive host and a remarkable human. She was the best part of my stay at Casa de Kai - in her, I made a life-long friend. Oh, and the cats Minu and Max hanging with me in the garden, were a sweet addition.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge and views of inner courtyard, Paziflora Hostel -STARLINK- is set in Puerto Escondido, less than 1 km from Playa Puerto Ángelito. I usually avoid dormitories, but this one was so lovely and clean that I was very happy. There is air-con, but the weather was quite cool so I didn't need to use it as the ceiling fan was fine. The swimming pool is a lovely addition, and the open kitchen is a great place to chat to others. I also found the location to be excellent if travelling by bus as it is a two minute walk, while the beach is about ten minutes if you can find the shortcut!

Situated in the centre of Oaxaca City, Hostal Central Oaxaca features rooms with free WiFi. I liked everything, this is by far one of the best place, if not the best I have ever stayed. The staff is amazing, they are always ready to help, and it’s so easy to meet people there, there is a very friendly atmosphere, it felt like a family home. We had a very good tasty breakfast, different every day (available from 8:30 to 10:00). We stayed in the double room with private bathroom, and it was very spacious. There are activities every days, and lots of excursions, I wish we stayed more in Oaxaca. If we come back we would definitely choose the same place.

Samora Luxury Resort has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in Santa María Colotepec. Beautiful property, the gardens are immaculate and well kept, very peaceful atmosphere. The pool is the standout feature and it’s stunning. The location is on a private beach, amazing sunsets - it’s about a 30 min taxi in to the town but once at the resort you won’t want to leave!
