The Lodge was absolutely beautiful. The river flowing by made everything very tranquil. Our bungalow was big, clean and the open air bathroom was really cool - we saw little geckos and frogs, it was great. We were able to use the kayaks for free and the bikes which helped us explore the local area. The pool was definitely a highlight - it’s big and clean and much needed in the heat! But the best thing about this property were the staff. From when we arrived outside of check-in hours and asked for a late check-out, they were nothing but accommodating. They were friendly and warm and made us feel very welcome. The owner’s wife was absolutely fantastic. When I hurt my foot she applied ice to the injury and a pain relief gel and kept checking in with me afterwards that I was okay. She is also a fantastic cook - we looked forward to breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. All the staff were helpful whenever we had an enquiry and keen to make sure our stay was the best it could be. Would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of booking the Ging Oya Lodge to do so - we will definitely return if we find ourselves in that part of the world again.

Very clean rooms. There's nothing to complain about, and the owners do everything to ensure your stay in Negombo is perfect! The traditional homemade Sri Lankan breakfast is also highly recommended and is delicious! The owner knows the country like the back of his hand and always has tips for your perfect vacation! He also organizes private tours through the country, which we highly recommend! This is our second time here, and it certainly won't be the last. We'd be back anytime!

Comfortable room. Very clean. Quiet. Owner open to discussion and helpful. Breakfast OK. Not far from the beach and the river. A few small shops for basic needs. A tuk tuk, a friend of the guesthouse, is always available and honest. Possible addresses of real nearby Ayurvedic centers, of a Franco-German restaurant.

We loved everything about this hotel and fantastic family running it. I would say that the stay exceeded all our expectations. Hotel is beautiful, all the furniture, room size, lobby, cleanliness all to very high standard. Food i cannot even describe because it was soooo good. Close to the beach and shops. Everything is spacious and clean. There are nice places to chill outside like the shared balcony and you can use the big garden. Dilan and his family try everything to make you feel at home from the beginning. He is always reachable and responsive. The food is so delicious and freshly cooked!

Had a pleasant stay at Shalom Residences, Negombo. The accomodation is tucked away in a quiet residential area, a couple of kilometres away from the beach. Was allocated a room' on the upper floor, room was basic, clean with attached washroom. Air conditioning was good. On the whole comfortable place to stay in. You wouldn't get a better host in Negombo. Kasun picked me up from the airport as I arrived late evening. Drove me around town, change money, got a local Sim and enjoyed some authentic Srilankan cuisine. On check out dropped me off at the local train station, for my train to Colombo . Was helpful throughout my stay there. Plenty of parking if you have your own vehicle. The location gives you real Srilankan village vibes. Even managed to visit the local church on a Sunday. Definitely recommend, because of the most pleasant host in Negombo. Thank you Kasun for a memorable stay.
