De Draecke Hostel

Elisabethbegijnhof-Papegaai, Ghent

De Draecke Hostel offers accommodation in Ghent, only 1km away from the city center. Guests can enjoy an on-site bar and free WiFi is available throughout the entire property.

Ghent Christmas Market is 700 metres from De Draecke Hostel, while Design Museum Ghent is 200 metres from the property. The location was perfect, right there in the Medieval times next to the castle and right in the center of Ghent. It was so near to everything and around that I went back few times during my exploring in Ghent just to rest for few minutes and go toilet. Breakfast was very good and kept me full for hours. I loved the fact that I was feeling completely comfy, safe and like I’m in my home and there wasn’t any noise to distract my sleep. Toilet and shower were inside my room so this made me feel like I had a private room and everything were very clean. Also the staff were very helpful, I had a late check in, I arrived in Ghent at 00:00 and I was in a stress but reception staff when I called calmed me down, the man said he will leave my keys in a place to find them and wrote all details needed on a paper so I found my room very easily and rested after a long trip. Also the WiFi was working good in all areas of the hostel. I wanna go back soon !

KaBa Hostel

Old Town, Ghent

Located right in Ghent's city centre, KaBa Hostel features a garden with a terrace and offers rooms with free WiFi 1 km from the Vrijdagmarkt Square and Ghent's City Council. Public parking is possible near the accommodation for a charge.

Dormitory rooms at KaBa Hostel come with lockers and shared bathroom facilities. Some rooms also feature a TV and a private bathroom. Guests have access to the property's garden with a terrace. We could arrive there only at midnight and even though the check-in time has already finished, we entered the hostel super easily thanks to the staff and we were provided with every information we could need by an informative letter. The facilities were great, you can spend time in the living room which also has a garden in it and cook yourself whatever you want in the kitchen. The kitchen also has lots of things already and everything was super clean. We really felt at home and looking forward to visiting here again!

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
